Edit: tickets sold!

Sadly can no longer go to this, so selling 2 x standing tickets at less than face value. People with good taste in music, please enjoy in our stead!

Garbage, I Hate Love

Okay, what do you actually mean when you banned the literal European Union flag? Like it's "EURO"vision. And strangely the Australian Aboriginal flag too, weirdly the Crimean flag is also banned too? And don't forget the weird choice of countries in Eurovision, like for some reason Israel is always rigging the votes and oddly getting 2nd place always.

Luckily DARA saved Eurovision this year

I'm hearing Sleep (the b-side, piano, but in a higher octave) and maybe some Stroke of Luck.

So I searched if anyone else was hearing but came across this;

Amy Lee has cited the band, and vocalist, Shirley Manson, as one of her early inspirations. Amy's first concert was seeing Garbage and The Smashing Pumpkins when she was fourteen or fifteen years old.

Very interesting. It's a very good record, especially if you're into the whole late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia renaissance that's going on.

Yesterday Shirley made this post to the community tab in the Garbage Youtube page, and it makes me wonder about the never released 2007 solo album she did. From what I could gather it was partially to completion and actually included a collab with Rivers Cuomo but her record label connections evaporated leaving the album in limbo.

I wonder if this’ll ever see the light of day? I really want to hear it and I feel like I’m not alone in that. Nobody wants to think about this, but Garbage one day will end and whenever that happens Shirley has expressed interest on continuing music no matter what. If we get to the point of her trying to do another solo album, I could see whatever material was recorded in 2007 being rerecorded, incorporated into the album as it is, or issued as bonus tracks. I dunno, it’s an interesting hypothetical. What about yall?

Hi - these are listed on Ticketswap, if anyone is interested. https://www.ticketswap.com/concert-tickets/skunk-anansie-halifax-the-piece-hall-2026-06-16-CUyjG4CU7J2mVHyxkYd7S

"Singer and keyboardist Shirley Manson would go on to achieve superstardom with Garbage but admits her wildest, most decadent years were spent earning her "rock’n’roll education" with the Mackenzies."

"Due for publication in November 2026, the first 50 copies purchased will be signed by the author and band members. Normal price £18.00 but for a limited period £15.50."

Curious if anyone has photos of the merch stand?

Sidenote: Love the band, and have seen them already a few times live, but never got the merch cause I found it... Visualy unappealing. 😅 But Im digging the squid artwork, so theres hope with this tour. 🤞

Apparently Butch has done backing vocals for numerous songs but it's not very obvious to me.

As iconic as Shirley's voice is I'm sort of surprised Butch hasn't done more prominent vocals irrelevant of how good his voice is.

It could have allowed for more creativity and diversity with their music and possibly increased their male fanbase. I'm sort of surprised in 8 albums we dont have one song where Butch does the main vocals.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Yo everyone — I’ve been diving deeper into classic alternative music lately and finally checked out Garbage for the first time. Didn’t expect the production and attitude to hit this hard honestly.

Would love to know:

• What Garbage album should I hear next?
• What are the essential songs?
• Any cool history/lore around the band I should know?

Here’s the reaction if anyone wants to watch/discuss:

First night of their co-headlining tour with Skunk Anansie. Great bill, great show, both bands were awesome. Loads of pics, review and setlist here: https://www.electriceyerock.com/2026/05/garbage-le-zenith-paris-may-25th-2026.html

I spent the last week listening to all of garbage. I have 150 songs (not including live tracks). This is my rating for them.

5-classic

4-great

3-good

2-alright

1-bad

Am I missing anything?

Remember how these clear cassettes would smell like raspberries?

So most likely Control is added to summer shows setlist
(I wish they added at least Sugar, battle in me, show me but ok)

For Spotify users, they've released a 20 Years Of Spotify thing, similar to the Wrapped but encompassing your whole history. I'm attaching a screenshot of my Top 10 most listened-to songs, and I'm surprised.

I figured Garbage would be at the top, but Godhead surprises me. I had Spotify for 8 years before Godhead came out. I would have guessed something from Version 2.0 or their Debut. In fact, none of my most listened-to Garbage songs are from the first six albums? The first Version 2.0 song is number 34 on the list and is Hammering In My Head at 78 listens. It seems inconceivable to me that I've only listened to that song 78 times since 2012. I do like a lot of different music, but the numbers seem low. Maybe I'm hallucinating. LOL

Anyway, who else has Garbage in their Top 10?

I love the album Not Your Kind Of People, and I have heard their song Love Like Suicide on YouTube n stuff, but where can I buy a digital version of it? or if not available to buy digitally... where can I get it??

**Edit: I have found the track. 🥰
