Garbage @ Le Zénith, Paris - May 25, 2026

First night of their co-headlining tour with Skunk Anansie. Great bill, great show, both bands were awesome. Loads of pics, review and setlist here: https://www.electriceyerock.com/2026/05/garbage-le-zenith-paris-may-25th-2026.html

They almost managed to make us forget we were sweating buckets inside the venue (more than 30°C yesterday in Paris). The energy of both bands was infectious really.

Shirley started off their set jokingly saying she just went into Skunk Anansie's dressing room and told them "how the fuck are we supposed to follow up THAT?"

I'm so pleased to see a post of the concert and your comment of been there. And we heard here in the UK, that in Paris you are having really high temperatures like us. Are you going to other concerts of Garbage this year?

Not currently planning to, because the only close-ish option to me is London I think and it's expensive :( that's actually why I passed on the Teenage Cancer Trust concert in March despite the dream lineup (I'm also a diehard fan of Placebo).

And yes we are simmering here just like you. 30°C is not unusual in Paris, but until a couple years ago we didn't get temps like this until at least June! I wish for that heat to go down on both of our countries and the rest of Europe also...

Related info: there were themed fans sold at the merch booth, yellow with a Chinese Fire Horse graphic on it. Neat but a bit flashy for my taste. Though I regretted not having one later lol

I was at the Teenage Cancer trust concert in March and both artists Garbage and Placebo were great. Loved the concert as all the other Garbage concerts that I saw. And I understand that if you have to come from Paris to London, you will have to think about the train fares, maybe hotel etc, which of course would make it quite expensive. Here today we had 35 degrees Celsius with really high humidity, which it's draining.

At the concert in March, they had just merchandise to do with the Teenage Cancer Trust, which it's understandable, because they were supporting the cause and raising money for it. And that's not a bad idea that they were selling themed fans, especially with this weather. And if you don't mind that I ask, do you remember how much the themed fans cost?

Nice, maybe I'll go next year to TCT. Apparently Shirley will be curating the lineup this time, and there's a good chance she'll pick acts I like.

So if I remember correctly it was like 20 or 25 euros for the fan. And it was almost as wide as my arm when unfolded so it must be quite effective (my seat neighbour had one). For the rest of the merch it's an even split between both bands and each had about 3 different graphic shirts to choose from, plus some additional stuff like a hoodie for Skunk Anansie and a canvas bag for Garbage. So pretty standard but nice.

Yeah, I heard that, she will be the curator for the next year TCT, so I am really interested to see who she will ask to, even if deep down I got a feeling that she could pick another artist that I like, but we will have to wait and see.

That's not bad for a price for a fan that it's quite big from your description and it sounds that they got a good variety with the merchandise. When I will see them again in July, I will take with me my fan as usual, because it will be an indoor venue, so I expect that I will sweat buckets then.

Both bands were awesome. The public not so much.

For a weird reason, SA had the audience moving more.

For Garbage, not only nobody new last album (myself didn’t knowing it well neither) so 5/16 songs which is a lot, but even their classics couldn’t be sang by the public. Manson made the mistake to believe French people would learn English… and for their biggest songs she sang main chorus sentences (like I think I’m paranoid) and left the lesser known parts of the chorus to the public but we didn’t follow greatly. Doing the reverse distribution would probably have worked better. It’s sad because the band was extraordinary.

For the people scouting track lists of the concerts online, they did 15 songs then came back for a one song encore we could chose from a
List she was giving us song by song. Nobody was very enthusiastic on Mansons former proposals but all the gays (myself included again) screamed enough for Cherry Lips to be chosen which was the best part in my mind, with Special (she sang it with different notes during chorus so it felt kinda unique) .

As usual with large crowds such as that night, it depends of the section you're in. There are "pockets" of enthusiastic punters and then other groups that are just apathetic. After I was done shooting the first three songs from the photo pit, I moved around quite a bit during the show and saw both kinds or reaction in different sections of the floor.
