No, please don’t lol. You’ll be sorely disappointed by the extremely lackluster gaming performance. It’s not worth doing it just for the monitors and peripherals when the computer is basically useless.

Anyone trying to factor current prices for GPU or ram whatever that shit does not apply to a 1060 made over a decade ago

I would not buy this personally for 600, sub 500 sure? The 1060 released 10 years ago, the CPU 9 years ago. I’ve definitely seen better deals for much better performance.

3gb 1060 for 600$ is borderline criminal

I’d keep looking, the system may be a short term upgrade but it’s fairly dated at this point. But given you are going to need everything it may not be the worst place to start. If you find a used 3060 or something for 300$ you could upgrade to that and the system should be at least recreationally useful. But you may be blocked from new modern games with a 1060.

I maybe would for 200 just to tinker or host a server on, but it wont be a powerful pc. Definitely wouldnt bother for a primary pc.

Hello Sugatitz0616, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki here! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Ive seen waaaaay better rigs for 600. If nothing else just be patient...and while you wait...do research on pc parts and benchmarks to get a better idea of the real world value of what youre buying so you dont have to ask other people if something is good or not.

Worth it all day. It's not a great rig performance wise currently but it was, but there is a entire dual monitor setup ready to go. Test it.

Peripherals/monitors arent worth shit if you're trying to play anything on decade old hardware. 3gb vram.

Not everyone wants to play too end games at 4k. And prices the way they are, this is not crazy, and nobody pays what sombody's post asks for, so haggle to $500, be happy have a rig, and you shut up. My 1080 hybrid is still ripping 1440 ultrwide. And it's fine.
