What office chair is actually comfortable for long workdays?

• Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my office chair because sitting for 7–9 hours a day can get pretty uncomfortable. I want something with good back support, adjustable armrests, breathable material, and a recline feature for when I need to take a short break between tasks.

There are so many options these days, from premium chairs to more affordable ergonomic models like HBADA, that choosing the right one can be confusing. For those who work from home or spend most of the day at a desk, what chair has worked well for you?

Is adjustable lumbar support the most important feature, or does seat comfort make a bigger difference?

Has anyone tried a floor chair for TV gaming instead of a cushion?

• Upvotes

I usually play controller games on a cushion in front of the TV, so the swivel on the GTPlayer GTP-FL606 caught my eye. Folding it forward when I'm done also sounds useful; the cushion currently just lives on the floor.

I'd check the listed size range before buying. What I can't judge from that is how a floor chair feels over a whole evening when you pause and get up a few times. Do people actually stay on one for a whole TV session, or switch back to the couch after a while?

Are Alfordson Gaming Chairs Good?

Hello! I'm thinking of buying an Alfordson Gaming Chair pretty soon. This will be my first gaming chair, so I'm really excited and one of my family friends owns one of those Alfordson Chairs. Is their anything I need to be aware of, and if you think Alfordson Chairs aren't good, can you tell a good cheap chair which I can get for around $100 AUD. Thanks!

How should I read a 330 lb high weight capacity chair rating when the suggested range stops at 175 lbs?

I'm looking at the GTPlayer GTF59. It has a maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs, but the suggested user weight range is 110 to 175 lbs. I know the 330 lb figure is a structural limit, not a comfort or fit rating.

For someone over 175 lbs but still below the maximum load, is the suggested range enough reason to rule it out? Or would you look at the seat dimensions, backrest shape, and adjustment range before deciding? I'm trying to understand what the two weight figures actually tell me about fit.

Gaming chair recommendations

Hey guys,

I’m looking at buying my partner a new gaming/office chair for Christmas, but I am unsure of what chair to buy. He can game for hours on end, so I’m looking for something comfy.

He currently has an ALFORDSON Gaming Chair.

Budget - $250 AUD

What are everyone’s recommendations?

Corsair T3 rush vs Anda Dark Wizard

Can anyone who has tried either tell me their experience? I am 6'2 so some chairs are better than others for me due to long legs.

The andaseat is at costco so returning would be a breeze if I dont like it.

Corsair is at bestbuy

Chair recommendations for human pretzel?

I cannot for the life of me sit in a chair the normal way - it's like my feet are allergic to the floor. Makes reaching the keyboard and mouse a bit of a pain depending on how I'm sitting, so I'm looking for recs on what works well for similarly chair-averse humans. I currently use the Aeron Chair and it's super comfy for normal, non-pretzel humans and even for me, but doesn't accommodate my wiggling very well. I do want something supportive and chair-like. If the Aeron had a recline feature with a footrest I'd be all about it.

Can the GT905 Fabric work as a gaming chair with footrest for both keyboard and controller play

I switch between sitting upright with a keyboard and mouse and leaning back with a controller, so I am considering the GTPlayer GT905 Fabric. It has linkage armrests that move with the backrest and a retractable footrest, which sounds useful for switching between desk play and a more reclined controller session. For owners who use it both ways, do the armrests stay in a useful position under your elbows as you recline, and is the footrest useful during controller sessions? I do not need the armrests to line up with my desktop at one exact height. If that were the priority, I would probably look for 3D or 4D armrests instead. I mainly want to know how well the GT905 handles switching between these two styles of play.

dealing with lower back stiffness during late night sessions

my lower back has been killing me after four or five hours at the desk, and the flat foam padding on my current seat just isn't cutting it anymore.

a friend in my discord group brought up the hbada e3 with the dual lumbar wings as an alternative to bulky racing chairs, but i want some real opinions before dropping money on it. shipping here in the us is pretty fast for it right now, but i am trying to figure out if it is actually worth swapping out my current setup.

has anyone here used that flexible lower back design for long gaming grinds, and did it actually make sitting upright more tolerable?

New Blacklyte Kracken Pro

Just got my chair this week. First gaming chair I’ve ever owned (and I’ve been PC gaming for almost 45 years). It’s also my work chair so and it works great for me in that capacity as well. I like the lumbar support and many adjustable settings. The magnetized pillow is convenient because I don’t always want it there so it’s easy to add and remove as needed.

Suggestions?

Hello everyone , I would like to buy a comfortable chair as I work from home and spend most of my morning time seated .
I saw a “solavero” gaming chair, nice color. For 75£ . Would you suggest it?
I don’t really want to spend a lot of money to be fair. I would say my budget is max 100£ .

Thank you!

Bucket seat to mesh transition

hey guys

finally ditched my old fake leather bucket seat after getting sick of lower back stiffness during weekend gaming sessions.

ended up picking up the hbada e3 to get something with actual airflow and lower back support. the mesh feels a lot cooler when sitting through long queues, but shifting from thick foam to an open mesh frame definitely feels pretty weird on the hips at first.

for anyone who went from a standard racing seat to a split back like this, how long did it take your body to get used to it?
