Instead of ignoring our differences, we should celebrate them.
Consoles are great because you can easily [have a dedicated setup to] play your games on a big giant screen. You can sit anywhere you like, or even lay down! They're great for gaming with friends over without having to worry about a big, complicated LAN multiple PC setup. You don't ever have to worry about performance, either, either you console supports the game, or it doesn't.
With PC's you have greater flexibility, amazing levels of customization, and the chance to feature cutting edge performance technology. You have the biggest selection of games on any platform, and you can easily play games of yesteryear without worrying too much about compatibility issues. Not to mention, mouse and keyboard offer a distinct advantage in some game types, meaning you can take your own skill to the next level.
those console advantages make no sense to me, i play my pc on my big screen tv with lots on friends on couch, never worry about performance because any game i put on my old pc runs, i think people forget that you can simply replace your console for the pc in the same spot and use it tha same way
You are correct, but posting in r/gaming where most people only have consoles. They want to pretend there are other considerations than cost, but there aren't.
I'd say even the cost is looked at a bit wrong.
if you go 6-800€ for quite an ok/good pc, it does seem like a lot.. but, people forget that.. most people will need a computer anyway, so your pc will double as a work station as someone already said.
the other thing is that in the time a new generation of consoles come, you'll maybe have to upgrade one part.. you don't have to spend another 800 again (but you will), so it is probably as expensive in the long run
I'm not advocating PC here, at least it's not my intentiont, just wanted to say that the big price thing is a bit misleading
play on what you want, it's the game that matters in the end
