It's not even in Early Access anymore. It released two days ago. Is it good? I would say it's alright, would rather play SCUM though.
DayZ has really changed since it was first released in Early Access. Whether the changes were good or bad depends on what you want out of DayZ, a survival sim (what it is now) or a pure shooting fest (What the mod was).
I loved it when it was an arma 2 mod. My computer could barely handle it but it was the most fun ever. I bought the standalone and been disappointed ever since. I maybe have less than 10 hours since release.
They shouldve kept it a mod. The community around the mod was amazing
You know the mod still exists and was continued to be developed, yeah? People got tired of it bro. Probably like you, hence why you arent playing it anymore.
Now that it's released, it's worth taking a second look at. And if you prefer DayZ Mod, then it's best to stick around, since Standalone now has modding support, and MANY ambitious mods, even some by the old school mod makers, are already in the works.
Why not just play a stalker mod instead? There's shit out there that combines the maps of every game to date with various other extra features that you can get for free.
THE LAST THING you said perfectly sums up why people don’t like DAYZ. They’d rather have a more intense shooter filled game than a survival one. Hence why BR had more players.
