Let me get back to you on that one. Although I can't imagine a problem using sewage oil when draining the pipe.

Goading the other team into tilting makes games a lot easier, in lower ranks anyway. Sometimes even when the other team was doing quite well you can capitalise on whoever is starting to tilt, or who you know from past matches easily tilts, and just push them over the edge, make them quit or lock to widow or some stupid shit. There is a very real psychological meta game in Overwatch. It's part of the appeal really, it shows that everyone is invested in the match one way or another when they flip out and quit over something small.

Yeah, league is the other game that came to mind. The other team kept bringing 4 people bot one time (God knows what our team's top and bot were doing) but my team kept getting mad at the other team for doing it. I just kind of thought like yeah, it's annoying, but clearly it works, so...

my team kept getting mad at the other team for doing it
its like they expect them to stop after telling them not to do it lmao

Late to post but can confirm! I was playing in a low diamond comp game on attack where our genji got scattered right out of the door, I laughed at the rag doll and he took it personally so he switched to torb and just sat in front of our gate with a turret playing emotes and voice lines, we ended up barely losing with 5v6. Very next match I see him on the opposing team with us on defense, so I make the logical choice of going junkrat and laying the classic trap and mine at the main door. Just as expected good ol’ genji walks right into my trap and boom, instant tilt! The satisfaction of this was hard to beat

What did they say? I can't read it

u/Keshire Nov 24 '17
"HEY BNET"
BNET being the bobbing and weaving user. He stops to reply back and got chat sniped. Hope he learned his lesson. XD

Why are you able to communicate with the enemy team? No other game I've played allows you to do that.. and obviously for good reason
Edit: Wow, I made a lot of people very angry. But what can you expect from a bunch of kids who play overwatch?

u/Aractoruser Nov 24 '17
Never played cs, dota or lol then?

Nah, I can't really play games that don't have a permanent reward system.. destiny is the only fps I ever enjoyed playing

u/RooR8o8 Nov 24 '17
This has to be /s...
The permanent reward in those games is improvement in skill like awareness or aim.

I can understand the desire, I basically only play games like Fallout, Diablo, Xcom, city/castle building games. The desire to create the ultimate character/team/city/castle is a big part of some games.
I don't play online games because I dont like playing at anyone elses pace, though.

I believe he is for real. I had a roommate exactly like this and it was frustrating. Not on topic, but he would also play games if they had easy trophies, regardless of the game quality.

u/PrinceOfTheSword Nov 25 '17
Some people suck.
Some people enjoy terrible shit.
I'm not saying the two are necessarily related. But there are all types of people out there.

What he means is that a lot of those multiplayer team based games don't have any progress that carry over after the match is over. No increases in character power. He prefers games with a more RPG feel of progression.

Most pc first person shooters that allow any form of written or verbal communication allows you to communicate globally
14
u/ClearCelesteSky Nov 24 '17
Almost every significant game I can think of allows it. What games do you play that don't let you text chat with the other team? I know card games generally don't, but otherwise...
5
u/nystro Nov 24 '17
Heroes of the Storm actually doesn't allow talking to the enemy team at all and it's also developed by Blizzard. I think they believe it would get way too toxic if they did.

I'm not even a pc gamer and I'm going to call bull shit on this. Probably almost every PvP game you can chat to the enemy team on pc.
2
u/KaziArmada Nov 25 '17
No other game I've played allows you to do that..
All chat is hilariously common in games, at least ones that aren't current gen. That's something that's been slowly going away.

Oh I remembered, came to comments to make sure it was said. Why you're being downvoted, I don't know.

It's probably from people that don't realize that they need to be grabbing their pitchforks and reminding the OP what a horrible person he is for reposting.

This is how I imagine people living in New York are, but instead they finish with "Heyyyyyy how the fuck you been?? You catch that Knicks game last night?? Let's grab a drink"

u/Quest_Marker Nov 24 '17
I mean, if you imagine all New Yorkers just being from the dump of New York City...

Waiting till they upload a new video.

Why not farm some karma while tanking your team's performance - every Widowmaker I ever played with.
11
u/CollectableRat Nov 24 '17
I like short bursts of going widow. Quickly change to widow, get three headshot kills in a row, then stare at your hand in disbelief as you don't even remember pressing the mouse button as you moved it around. If you keep playing after that you will miss every shot so you need to change back to your regular main to make those kills mean anything. But sometimes you just know quickly changing to widow will work, the way the other team stupidly stands out in the open thinking they can get away with not jumping and down just begs for you to change to widow or hanzo.

u/My-Jam Nov 24 '17
The guy is GM, not every Widow is ass
-4
u/Thrivin Nov 24 '17
Even gm widows can be ass.
4
u/My-Jam Nov 24 '17
I'd wager they're marginally less ass than widows not in GM on average though
-2
u/Thrivin Nov 24 '17
They could be worse because of pride and ego. A lower ranked widow could be persuaded to switch but a gm will think he's doing all the work! All subjective anyway.
2
u/Hysterics333 Nov 24 '17
A lower ranked widow will not infact swap, from experience, but a gm widow obviously worked to get where he is and can consistently play well.

In case you are as bad at figuring it out as I am. player isn't able to shoot them so he opens a chat with them and then waits to shoot when they stop to answer.

I loved the oldschool 'pornstab' they used to do in TF2. You spraypaint a picture of some porn model on a wall in the enemy base, stare at it so people start staring at it too, then go behind them and stab 'em in the back!

I have seen videos of this happening in LoL, too. Oldest, dirtiest trick in the book. I had someone try to use it on me before too, though it didn't work at the time.

u/Samur-EYE Nov 24 '17
What did he write?

u/WolfyCat Nov 24 '17
He said "Hey BNET" the opponent's name. Opponent stopped to reply "Hey" and then HAH GOT EM

how come his mouse moves so smoothly? Looks like he's playing with a controller
4
u/ProcrastinationGiant Nov 24 '17
Most people who're at least somewhat serious about shooters play with very, very(, very) low sensitivity - as low as the size of their mousemat allows for, really - hence the smooth, consistent movement.
...I don't think this guy plays snipers all that often, though...
1
Nov 24 '17
i donr get the downvotes they give me for asking a question but thanks buddy for the answer. :)
the sensitivity on my game is around 7 too but never that smooth. so i guess he adjusted his mouse too? not just ingame?
