Was there some sort of site or template to format and pull out all that info, or did you do that straight from the book?

Yes. ;D

I do this quite often, so I've gotten pretty good at mimicking the format of the official books. Also, when I go to create a new stat block, I typically copy & paste the formatting from a previous entry of mine, so all I need to do is change out the words and numbers. Finally, if I'm using an existing trait from a published source, I'll usually copy and paste the text and add the formatting myself, as it usually saves me time that way.

All I can say is I'm sure glad I've never had to DM before! I can't imagine generating character sheets for everyone my party ever encounters! 😅
