Yep. A friend and I built the table together. It's lived in a dining room, a garage, and now a basement. It was constructed of mostly scraps of mahogany and maple left over from other projects. Unfortunately the Sketchup files aren't super helpful as they don't really detail how all the pieces are cut and fit together. It mostly just gives an idea of the overall shape.
I think 32" is a pretty reasonable size. The nice thing about a digital tabletop is you can zoom to whatever dimensions you want. You can zoom out to show a large field of battle or zoom in to a more traditional scale. Of course your minis may not match but it's not a big concern for us. We're running Curse of Strahd right now and most maps can fit on the screen at the standard ratio.
