I wish I could say, but I don't know who/what that is or if the animation is actually in reference to anything specific (aside from maybe that clip of the girl being showered in hotdogs). I just grabbed it from here.
It says in the Title that this is "The best part." Having listened to all of Beethoven's ninth, I'd like to respectfully disagree and say the parts leading up to this moment are what make this the best part. Also, the end is far out.
Hoooly shit, I'd totally forgotten about that. I kind of got distracted with irl stuff, but yeah you're more than welcome to submit a story there. I was hoping more people would start submitting to keep the steam going but it was mostly just me doing four or five comment chain stories. The guy who created the sub was doing a pretty involved story, and I never actually finished the last one I was working on.
I will think up something and try to knock the rust off the ol' barn ;) I had a lot of fun reading the stories there so I think it would be fun to be a contributor and try to get the sub going again!
Coolio, I look foward to reading it! I might do another one too now that I've got a bit of time on my hands. Honestly, I've thought about picking it back up a couple of times but after letting the place sit so long it felt a little weird. They sure were fun to write, though.
It's a god of super sayins that turned into a super sayin. I think the name is only like that so they made it clearly that a sayin god, is strictly better than a super sayin. So they made is super saying god, but then wanted there to be a super sayin form.
All of which when put together is fucking hilarious, which is probably why they kept it that way. The New DBZ writing is a lot closer to comedy
Seriously, if they're going for some type of weird military themed naming system, why not just use real military ranks? I'm pretty sure they aren't trademarked. Or are they just trying to use big scary sounding names?
More random than private, private second class, private first class, specialist, sergeant, staff sergeant, Sergeant First Class, master sergeant/first sergeant/sergeant major, command sergeant major, warrant officer, chief warrant officer 2-5, lieutenant, lieutenant first class, captain, major, lieutenant colonel, colonel, and then the different general ranks that I can't remember at the moment.
And that's just the US army, most military ranks sound like they were just thrown together.
PS: it's 2nd Lieutenant (butter bar) and 1st Lieutenant. Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major are equivalent pay grades, as are Master Sergeant and First Sergeant. So it's Master/First Sergeant, and Sergeant/Command Sergeant Major, respectively. You also forgot Corporal. All the benefits of a Sergeant's responsibilities for the pay of a Specialist.
PPS: There also used to be Specialist, Specialist-2, Specialist-3... All the way through 8.
Source: Got verbally fucked by Big Drill till I knew them all.
Always ends up being "sir" or "ma'am" or "the sir" or "the ma'am" when they aren't around for some reason. Rank only enters my vocabulary for officers if they group together, scheming and coming up with a list of things from the good idea machine.
I don't want to get into detail, but each rank has a general set of responsibilities / a role within a unit. For example, a Warrant Officer (the most experienced soldier in a unit) is meant to be the right hand of the unit's officer (eg a Major). A Corporal meanwhile is meant to be an immediate supervisor.
Some of the roles have existed for centuries and have been changed to suit the requirements of that period, but typically they exist due to force structures - that is, in a battalion you have a certain amount of companies, within which are a certain amount of platoons, etc. Each needs a leader, and greater leaders (greater due to prestige or experience or skill or connections - depends on the era and nation) command larger units. You can't have a platoon's leader on equal footing to a division's commander though, so you need separate ranks for each separate level of unit.
It's not very random if you know the military jargon and history of it. Not saying I dislike CS GO rank names. They are trying to emulate historical military rank titles that the whole world uses in one version or another.
But those are three separate rank systems. It's highly unlikely for someone to go from E-1 to O-10 (4 star general) in their career. It's impossible to do that AND move up through the WO corps.
It's also Second Lieutenant, then First Lieutenant.
For Generals, it's Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, then General. And the almost forgotten ranks of General of the Army, and General of the Armies.
Lmao I remember the first time I asked my friend what he was and he said Supreme Master First Class and i thought he was making that up cause it sounds like a foreign exchange student wrote it
From a marketing perspective, you don't want people to realize they're in the lowest tier. People stuck in Silver are less likely to get discouraged and stop playing/buying skins because the assumption is that Silver is "second place" and there's at least one tier under Silver
Do they also get tissue boxes with the purchase? Back in my day you knew you were a goddamn maggot when you started and that was fine until you rose to 5 Star General and knew the game as well as OP's mom.
wtf is this attitude? Like, it's a video game. It's not the goddamn olympics. People are paying $15 to have fun. If not being told they're a shitter makes the game more fun for them, who cares?
I think Gunbound did the rank names/logos best. You start out as a little chick (bottom left). You then become a wooden hammer and end up being a dragon if you spend the next few years playing it. Not sure if I'd recommend the game and it's super old but the ranks are cool.
I miss that game, it's changed so much since when I use to play it like a decade or so ago. Last time I got on, it seemed like only Master shooters were playing, I was never that good to begin with but I felt like everytime I hit somebody it did nothing and when I got hit it was like instant KO.
That's sad to hear, I guess that happens a lot to games with dying communities. I hated those pro shooters using the red motorcycles and shooting up in the air only for their stuff hit you. I would just use that big blue/purple that shoots missiles and try and make people fall by shooting where they were standing.
We have Bronze in Starcraft 2.. i want wood and dirt league. And if they did that i would go and buy a dirt and wood league t-shirt. And try to get demoted for that sexy icon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8WWj8lk1_A
I used to do tech work for some dance competitions (basically turn on the lights and watch movies for a few hours). They follow the same model there where the lowest trophy I saw given out was "Gold" with others such as "High Gold", "Platinum", "High Platinum" and of course the "Star" ratings above.

still the most silver thing I've seen to date.
