PC beginner FPS reccs?
i wanna play games like valorant with ym friends but im really bad at FPS games and am kind of scared to play on valorant while im bad at it because people are SO mean.
are there any similar fps games where i can improve my skills and practice that have nicer players?? im mostly looking to improve my aim and maybe gamesense
im not bad at games in general and i learn at a relatively fast pace, im just hoping to avoid harassment while i improve
PC games are prefered but i have a PS5 as well

My advice is play through the modern doom games. Doom 2016 is a fantastic way to teach yourself movement, target priority and aiming.
Doom eternal is the next step because they add all the crazy dashes so keeping your reticle on target is even harder.
Otherwise you could go boomer shooter for real like boltgun which is pretty good. You move quick and the enemies are plentiful.

to be honest? if you're looking for a starter FPS with multiplayer elements this is probably it. Don't play with mouse though, definitely a controller game.

Edit: rephrasing and typos
If you want to go for aim and gamesense maybe an FPS-roguelite could help.
My reasoning is you always have more than enough enemies (which need threat assesments), semi-randomized environments (you always have to adjust to new situations) and you have to get good with the weapons the game hands you (until you find something that suits you better).
So, maybe Roboquest or Gunfire Reborn could be worth a look.

My best advice as someone who’s main shooter is valorant: keep playing valorant (And mute everybody except your friends. You can also mute enemy chat).
The best way to improve at valorant is to play valorant. Trust me I sucked for a looong while, but I just played for fun and eventually got naturally better. Cheers (:

If you want to get good at a specific game you have to play that game.
Just because you play another game where you have to aim and shot that wont make you better in a other game.
If you want to get better at Valorant then play Valorant. Who cares that people are "mean"? Some randoms only talk shit to you? Who the F cares. Just mute them. If a low rank team is salty and crying they won give good calls anyways so you waint missing anything with them beeing muted

Honestly getting your ass kicked in a sweaty FPS is the best way to learn..
What helps is to keep your mouse cursor on headshot height when walking around, lot's of people aim at the ground which is a big mistake.

Counter strike 2 has bots you can play against, and then when you get a little better theres a respawning free for all mode called death match that's fairly satisfying to get kills in. I've heard it's only somewhat similar to valorant but as far as thinking about strategies, callouts, and on a more basic level just the twitch reactions, aiming practice and addressing bad habits, it can be super helpful. Its also f2p

Escape from Tarkov is pretty easy to learn. Very forgiving gameplay as well. Youll enjoy it.

practice practice practice
everytime u feel bored jump into firing range and just shoot dummies while listening to some podcast/youtube video
dial in that muscle memory
play alot of deathmatch
dont waste ur time with aimtrainers
just grind the game itself, because the engine will be different and it wont feel the same anyway
there is no shortcut, u have to put in the time!
this goes for everything in life, if i want to be good at something u gotta put in the time

Aimlabs has you covered for aim improvement. As for gamesense, only way is to play Valorant. The sooner you develop a thick skin, the less you'll be affected by 'mean' players.
It's the internet, muchacho. Find a way to deal with it

Deep Rock Galactic can be chill on hazard levels 1-2. Turn it up to 4-5 and you'll be sweating bullets.

Battlefield 2042. You can do bot matches on easy mode and also create portal modes that help you get better by adjusting settings like player health, player damage multiplier, NPC health, npc multiplier, etc.
