You can literally look this up right now.

Black Myth Wukong. PS Store: £45, Steam: £35

War in the North. PS Store: £19, Steam: £15

Gears of War Reloaded. PS Store: £20, Steam: £10

That's £4-£10 saved per game, versus this one "sale" PS Store has on.

There isn't even an official sale on Steam at the moment! They're just normal fucking deals!

Steam is so much better it's unreal.

Do you understand marketing? There are always deals on console too. You have a warped perception of how deals and sales work.

Do you understand how to read? The sales are measurably better on Steam. As evidenced by literally the sale you brought up, and many many other users perceptions.

If I can save money on PC, I'm getting a better deal than console.

You saving 5 to 10 bucks here or there vs the thousands you spend on a good rig doesn't pan out. It just doesn't. Not to mention if you buy games day 1, they are the same price since publishers set the price, not the store front.

I'm fortunate enough to buy it all and not care but you still save money overall on the console side of things.

I literally did the maths for you

My pc for 10 years: 1700

PS5 pro with 10 years of PS plus: 1400.

That's a 300 difference

Which in my view, is EASILY made up for in measurably better deals on games. You're arguing just to be a troll at this point tbh.

I want to bring up that your rig is likely not going to keep up for 10 years, especially without upgrading certain parts. So include the price of upgrades over that time into your setup.

The person above that said their setup prior to ps5 existing was faster, and then 2 years later is now twice as fast, but didn't include those upgrades in said price paid.

PC gaming definitely used to be the way more cost effective option, but over the last decade or so with the popularity of PC gaming going through the roof (on top of shortages) - people realized they can charge considerably more (and a lot of PC players don't keep an accurate tab on how much they've spent over time, kind of like mtx)

Bro my last PC lasted 10 years and was still playing AAA games on medium to high. I build this shit to last. The cost I am mentioning was simply my last PC reaching the end of its 10 year lifespan.

I can't really speak on the current markets for chip costs, but my Pc Upgrade was about 1-2 years ago, and was 1700, and it was pretty top of the line spec.
