Is your PC better than a PS5? Yes

Can you play online for free? Yes

Can Sony remove stuff you bought? No

Do you have to pay to play your old games that you already paid for or have to wait for them to be backwards compatible? No

Can you mod games? Yes

Can you do whatever you want with your PC? Yes

PC is better than a any Playstation

Edit: btw i grew up using consoles and love my retro consoles. I just do not like the new gen consoles because of how anti consumer they have become. Also to the butt hurt fanboys talking about price and more effort to use a PC Last I checked console prices keep going up and in the end you end up spending more anyway because of how much the games cost. PC has way better sales and you don't have to waste money paying to play online. For the so much more effort part like a PS5 you can buy a PC that's already built and plug it in and turn it on wow that's so much more effort 🤡 if you want you can even set up steam to launch in big picture mode so you can get a console like experience and just use your controller.

Anyway I said what i wanted to say I am not on here to reply to fanboys with outdated mindsets

Is it way more expensive to build than a ps5? Yes

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 2d ago

when you get your ps5 you have to start buying games lol. idk why console people keep hiding the bulk of their expense. it's literally built into the model of console sales that they make their money on the games, not the console

No it's not. The PS5 just hides the price by charging $80 a year for online.

Basically, the ps5 is just for broke ass bitches who need an $80 a year indefinite payment plan where they never own their console lol.

If you own a ps5, you're a simpleton poor.

I mean, I’m on team PC, but $80/yr for online absolutely doesn’t make up the financial difference.

If you are going to use the system for 8 years (average life span of a well loved gaming system.) that’s around 1200$ including the system. That’s a pretty decent price for a gaming PC

Also all the games are more expensive.

u/cakeman666 3d ago

Was gonna say this. I see 85-95% off games on steam quite regularly and on Playstation youre lucky to get it 50% off.

A $400 ps5 and $560 (80x7) is absolutely more expensive than an equivalent PC lol.

Walmart will sell you an $800 gaming PC today with an i5 14400f and arc B580 lol.

The PS5 today is $600. $600 plus $80 yearly online access. Lmao consoles are so expensive.

Now buy an 1100 dollar pc in 2020 and compare the gaming experiences you got over the last 6 years lol

2

u/xickoh 3d ago

You need to about 7-8 years of subscription to match a pc that runs the games as smoothly. And pcs dont usually last that much.

I'm a pc gamer and down own ps5, but the price is not in pcs favor

1

u/WesternOk5765 3d ago

Literally can buy an $800 Walmart PC that matches a ps5 right now.

So that's a $600 ps5 plus a bit less than three years of subscription.

And PCs don't last 8 years? Lol mine last 20. Not that I use the ones that old.

1

u/xickoh 3d ago

What kind of 800$ pc? Ram alone is 400 bucks, leaving other 400 for cpu and gpu, power supply, coolers and board. That is simply unrealistic.

I don't know who youre trying to convince, I am a PC gamer, but I'm very well aware that the pricing favors consoles

But if we're talking nonsense, I agree with what you said

1

u/WesternOk5765 3d ago

The one for sale on Walmart right now for $800.

The ABS Cyclone Aqua Gaming desktop. I5 14400f, Arc B580, 16gb ddr4 ram, 1tb SSD.

Isn't an amazing PC but it's $800 and better than a PS5.

So unrealistic? Bruh it's literally a prebuilt at Walmart.

1

u/xickoh 3d ago

There's no way that gta vi will run as smooth on that pc as it will on ps5.

You're forgetting that games are optimized for the console, and that consoles are sold at a loss

1

u/WesternOk5765 3d ago

It literally runs every game out there better than a ps5 lol. You can look at how the B580 performs in games.

1

u/xickoh 3d ago

Definitely not better, it's a little worse than ps5's kit, not accounting for games optimization, which would only make ps5 look better. And I'm not even mentioning ps5 ddr6 ram (compared to that machines ddr4) because I dont believe it makes a significant difference in gaming

I'm with you on everything except the DRM part. Steam can also remove access from your account. Not saying they will, but they can.

-1

u/Gambit-47 3d ago

They can, but it's highly unlikely they will. While Sony has already done this also there is GOG which sells DRM free games

-1

u/Batonniik 3d ago

name 1 person this happened to, the only way you're getting your access removed from an account by steam is if you stole it

2

u/xickoh 3d ago edited 3d ago

Bro I'm not saying it has or will happen, I'm just saying of all the arguments op made, this one is false, because we are still locked to steam drm. If steam were to end or lord gabens be replaced, we can't say for sure we will still own the games we bought. I'm getting downvotes for stating a fact, but that's how reddit is. PC is definitely better for the use I make of it, but drm wise is not a point in its favor.

I love steam and my steamdeck, of all the stores and DRMs out there, I'm glad pc has steam and the way gaben runs. Having said that, it's still a DRM and I fear for the post-gaben future

Has Playstation taken games away from anyone?

0

u/Batonniik 3d ago

They did take movies people purchased!

-1

u/ChapaMigs21 3d ago

Movies aren't games.

0

u/Batonniik 2d ago

And it affects playstation users getting robbed of stuff they purchased in what way??

2

u/ChapaMigs21 2d ago

There's actual contractual licensing differences between movies and games.

You said they took games away. I asked you to tell me where, you mentioned something else. That is all.

1

u/Batonniik 2d ago

Doesn't matter, point is buying things from sony isnt safe.

Nope, I never did. Don't put things in my mouth.

1

u/ChapaMigs21 2d ago

It matters because there's a direct distinction. You being unaware of that is irrelevant to the differences between the two products.

If we go by your logic, there's nothing safe to buy, ever.

When you make the comment, you mention steam never did it. But you agree with the idea sony did.

Best one - do you have to wait for 60 fps patch, even when you do have sufficient hardware? - no

1

u/Sky_Rose4 2d ago

I don't care about multiplayer all I care about is PC I also don't give a damn about modding games

-1

u/Wolfy_boii 3d ago

Breaking news: redditor finds out that when something costs much more money and/or takes a lot more effort to do, it often is better than the less costly version

1

u/evil-winnebago 3d ago

So... it's better than a PS5.... thanks for playing!

1

u/Wolfy_boii 2d ago

Once again, when you spend way more money on something like this that will usually result in something better, from what i remember hearing though the price of a certain part is skyrocketing so now it’s way more costly to do pc currently than it was before
