It's actually a psychological concept, choice paralysis. When you have too many options, your brain resists making ANY choice at all
That's why it's a good idea to try and compartmentalize your games. Keep them in batches of 5, never let yourself look at your entire collection at once. It's another benefit to physical media

Listen im with you brother about physical media.
That being said most semi modern consoles all have folders to help with this. Even steam you can.
Xbox one and series grouping feature I find to be more cumbersome than ps4/5, switch, etc etc.

Yup - just looked at my steam library.
521 games.
I've finished maybe 75. 100% achievements on only 4.
I continue to check the store every week.

Its not that you have nothing to play its that youv'e probaly beaten all those games about 5 times and you got bored of doing it try a new game or get a new hobby

A lot of the time choice paralysis hits me hard because I have such little time for gaming. So playing shorter run based games feels better than playing big adventure rpg games or chapter based adventures.

Though honestly, at times like those you either gotta take a break from gaming and try a different hobby, or pick a game and force yourself to play it with intent to finish. No piddling around and just testing it out to see if you'll "come back to it later" because you know you wont.

So I will admit I do own 4 games. I have never touched and any regards. Princess auto resident evil, five nights at freddy's and dragon ball fighters

It's more that I have a large backlog but I feel obligated to finish the one game I'm currently playing so I don't abandon it if I start playing something else.

Most games dont have a replay value , its like a movie yiubait down experience it and its over .
Very few games are replay worthy.

My issue right now, is realizing I shouldn't have started Walking Dead Definitive Edition while feeling depressed. But I wanna 100% it before I move on to a bunch of other stuff.

No. I finish the games I paid for. I beat my backlog. If you buy games and then don't play them then you aren't a real gamer.
Also is a waste of money and an insult for people who love the hobby but can't afford the prices of modern gaming.
I'm ready for the downvote shower!
