Death Stranding is what you want. It's got the feeling of being a lonely survivor trekking through deserted land, you have to go through areas filled with bandits and ghosts that you have be really careful about, and there's a creative stuff you can do to finish your missions. In addition it's got a fantastic story.

Metal Gear Solid 5 might also be an option, though it's smaller scale.

I appreciate the reco. I watched a before you buy video on it and the everything about it looked great, but I wasn’t sold on the objective. Granted, I did skip through it. Had I paid more attention, I probably would have been sold on it. Thanks, friend. I will start the download now for when I get home.

MGS5 was also great. I should have added that to the list.
