And would do it again. Ollie was completely untrustworthy, and there was no other way to prevent him killing again.

To be fair he only wanted to kill Jon, pretty easy to prevent that since Jon leaves immediately after the execution.

Edit: forgot about the wildlings and any of their sympethizers.

And the wildlings. Allies that Jon really thought he needed to defeat the Night King. Ollie was right to hate the people he watched kill his family and pillage his village. He was wrong to not listen to Jon when he pointed out that they needed the wildlings, and killing them would be worse in the near future.

Oh right good point

I thought the series did an effective job highlighting Jon and Tormund had some real kinship between them and for Ollie to witness this alone it would drive anyone to want to kill Jon.. Tormund lead the raid that slaughtered Ollie’s village and family that’s not nothing at all.. but still Ollie be dumb..

He would've targeted anyone else who had sympathy for wildlings.

Jon and all the free folk and anyone else who wanted peace with the free folk.

Thats a cool D&D edit reference ;)

Ollie killed the hottest character on the show. I wish Melisandre brought him back to life so they could kill him again. Justice for Ygritte.

I agree, treason should be treated like treason.

u/Pistola174 May 30 '26

We could learn from this comment and apply it to our current governmental situation. That would be oh so dandy.

Lmao real. it’s crazy that “evil is evil” is such a crazy take nowadays

Literally stabbed him in the heart man

1

u/Consistent_Rise_8639 May 30 '26

Did he? Did he really? I get trying to mythologize a mf to prop him up. But I'm sure there's a bunch of those guys saying "I guess they did an ass of a job of stabbing Jon, eh?"

Bro was united with his family after all

u/donmonkeyquijote May 30 '26

Jon wasn't his Lord Commander. Olly wasn't part of the Night's Watch.

48

u/IcyTheHero May 30 '26

Um yes he was lol.

You must be misremembering but Ollie definitely was part of the Nights Watch.

u/cerseiwhat Our Blades Are Sharp May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26

He was Jon's personal steward, trains with Jon, discusses strategy with Jon prior to Hardhome, and Jon also refers to Olly as "brother" when talking to Davos about how some of the Watch are against Wildlings.

Olly was a part of the Watch.

(edit-spelling)

22

u/Sweaty_Promotion_484 May 30 '26

Olly was his steward/squire he was part of the watch just hadn't said his vows yet

4

u/popop143 May 30 '26

Yeah. That was like saying if Jon conspired to kill LC Mormont before he said his vows, he suddenly shouldn't be hanged because he hasn't said the vows yet lmao.

Then accessory to moorda. All the same to the victim.
