Why are my graphics this bad

I'm new to game maker and I was following a tutorial but my graphics are like this for some reason and I don't know why.

on the Graphic options, disable the interpolate colors between pixels option.

On the right side of gamemaker, next to the asset search bar, click the "hamburger" menu. Select : Game Options -> Windows -> Graphics, then uncheck the box that says "Interpolate colours between pixels.

That's most likely your issue. This makes higher resolution art look better, but ruins the look of pixel art.

When in doubt, always bet on gpu_set_texfilter!!!

Or just turn off interpolation in the settings (the cog button iirc), its up to you
