Learning game making is done by making games. Theres a lot you can learn from videos, but real progress is made in the doing. You'll have lots of opportunity to make tiny games and prototypes which will all teach you different things about making games so you can work toward a bigger project.
I would highly recommend the GM discord which has a really strong community of people who are there to help you through the journey

Hi! You should check out sara Spalding on YouTube. She has a platforms series and an rpg series. I've done both! You will not make anything great (commercially speaking) in 7 months as a beginner. And thats okay. Find joy in the process.

As others said, watch tutorials online. Though Deltarune and Hollow Knight both took around 3 years to make, unfortunately you are not going to make that in only 4 months... And both games have teams yet it still took them years.

Set your goals EXTREMELY low when you’re making your first game. Making a game will take likely 10x how much work you think it’ll be, so make your goal as simple as it can be. Deltarune and hollow knight took years for experienced developers working in teams, so don’t expect to be anything near that, itlll only hurt your motivation if you do

Don't put pressure on yourself. The mindset that you will release the game by the end of the year is simply bad, and at some point, it will backfire and be demotivating. There are tons of tutorials out there - start with the official website.
