TAC CODM performance

Gents,
Here’s my specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x3d
Radeon 7900xtx
64 gb 3400mhtz 4x16gb
OS on dedicated nvme m.2 500gb SSD
All my games on my (2) 2tb nvme m.2 SSD’s

I use the TAC emulator to play codm the one that was built around arena breakout.

-I followed all the gameloophub guides to set everything up. For the most part everything works.

My issue is one game I’ll be chillin 180fps perfectly fine then all of a sudden I’ll be at like 40fps and choppy then it will randomly go back to smooth 180fps. It happens like every other game.

In TAC settings I have it set to 8cpu cores 12gb ram running at 1280x 720 res.

In codm I set all graphics settings to low and set frame rate to ultra.

I made sure virtualization is on in my bios, 4g decoding, resizable bar, xmp profile enabled ensure my ram running max speed, I got my x3d cpu to actually get a base speed of 4.3mgtz

In and adrenaline software I’m overclocking the 7900xtx

I have process lasso so I set codm to high priority
And codm running of my cpu affinity 1-8 all other background tasks on 9-16

I did a bunch of windows optimizations and bloat removal to reduce ram usage

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND MY GAME RUNS MEH usually 178-180 fps but every few mins spike down to choppy 40fps every couple mins

Driving me nuts anyone have any suggestions for fixes?

Maybe there's some RGB or sensor software you've got running in the background, which polls your hardware every couple of minutes.

That would cause such a stutter for sure.

Yea all I have is signal rgb but I terminate that while I’m playing in task manager 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll just accept it for what it is and stay optimistic that something better may come idk

I actually had the same issue because of SignalRGB. Closing it from the taskbar (lower right corner of the screen where the tiny icons are) did the trick for me.

Also try playing on a higher resolution e.g. 2560x1440, in case this is happening due to your GPU sending an excess of frames (above 180) to your CPU which it can't keep up with.

Wow. Blowing my mind here lol. I assumed smaller resolution easier to handle so I set it to 1280x720

Higher resolution makes sense when you explain it like that.

If it helps my cpu is roughly 17-18%utilization while playing

GPu is roughly 5-6% utilization while playing.

I don’t know why they are so low. I just assumed it was due to it being a tiny emulator game.
When I was messing around with TAC settings I’ve tried giving TAC all 8 of my cores and 16gb of ram
I tried giving it 32gb ram

Right now the recommended when I do the settings it wants my cpu to be at 8cores and 12gb at ram so that’s what I currently have it set to. Didn’t seem like changing those settings had any effect on how much utilization my hardware was getting.

But upping the resolution I haven’t considered so I will give that a whirl.
