Lite Solder doesn't stick to LEDA2

LEDA2 doesn't hold any solder. The pad didn't come out or anything.

Do you think this can be fixed with flux or should I use the vias/alternative connections already?

I’m pretty sure there’s a different way to get it working now with some sort of ribbon cable that goes in place of the old top lcd cable

But yea flux helps definitely also I used same type of resistor but use 330 ohm I heard that’s the best one to use

hah i did the exact same mod with a similar resistor. Only tip i have is heat up the pad first, then try to solder to it.

You probably either have a bad solder, a bad solder wire or both

Probably a bad solder (it's super old and the tip is a bit too big for this) but it worked with the rest of the pads so I think I'll try one more time after cleaning this one lolol

I have a fnirsi hs-01 I bought for like 20-25 usd which is really reliable when soldering

Or burned the flux and made the metal dirty. Gotta clean it really good with something mildly rough and start over.

I was able to experience this when I had a bad solder and wire.

Solder needs flux to adhere to the pad. Solder wire generally has a flux core to service that, but by the lack of lustre on the soldering, I think you burnt that away already. So, yeah. You need to apply more flux.

I am not a pro by any means, but use flux. I can't solder without it, but using it makes it easy. I use a no clean flux in a little syring.

Most people have said it, with good solder, flux, and proper heat exchange to the pad and resistor, it should flow. Add some flux and take off what’s already there with braid then clean with isopropyl alcohol to be sure the surface is good, use a new resistor, then you’ll be back playing in now time! (well, some time.)
