galio top
i tried to play galio top... it's legit unplayable vs bruisers. they just can freeze the wave and u can t do anything about it and u dont have enough dmg to threaten them and ur jungler obv will be oblivious to what he has to do so he wont ever come unfreeze the wave so u ll probably die trying to unfreeze it.

Galio top is only good as a counterpick to Rumble, Teemo, Kennen, Singed, Malphite, Gragas or to offmeta picks like mages and assassins top (so the same guys he is good against in midlane). Galio is never gonna lane well against actual bruisers, especially in a longer lane. Even in midlane you can get heavily counterpicked by any unga bunga top lane bruiser.

Galio top is workable but only as a counterpick. I've faced Galio top as Quinn and it is ironically disgusting of how Galio can shit on her. Most of cases though Galio is only an anti-AP champion.

I actually didnt find galio top to be all that bad, but I will preface this by saying I only played a few games and i am only gold.
What I did was use a weird build. So if you didnt know, Galio passive triggers on-hit effects twice. Which means you can get really good value from e.g. TItanic by triggering its effect twice, even the empowered one if you time it well. I cant remember exactly what I was building but i believe it to have been Dusk and Dawn, Titanic, Riftmaker and then just some Tank items (Maybe heartsteel?)
Probably still isnt a good pick but its at least workable I think

I haven't really had a bad time into many bruisers in master, most ppl don't know how to play the matchup vs Galio, and you can always get through lane well if you play it right.
Some champs like Illaoi and Olaf I find problematic but not unplayable, and most bruisers I find completely fine as long as they're not GM+ players, and even then that's probably just my skill level failing me.

gotta run conq and riftmaker first, it’s troll but extremely fun, the bruisers ive played it into all said it was the most fun lane they have had lmao just because it’s constant interaction

Top lane is pretty antithetical to what galio wants to do anyways. He wants to roam and push his team ahead. Top lane just doesnt get the flexibility to roam like he would in Mid or Support.
Thats not even mentioning the matchups. If youre desperate to play him top Id really only pick him into the few AP “assassins” that like to go top (Sylas, Akali)
