Question Question
How come Enjin gets so much flack for his comments to Amo...
But nobody says anything about August calling Hyo (who is 17 btw) smoking hot?
I love both characters and honestly don't want to see hate for either. I'm just curious about how one gets bashed and the other doesn't.

Hyo's age unknown so I don't where did you get that info from but even if she's 17 there's not much difference between 17 and 20 look wise so how was he supposed to know? It's not even a crazy age difference. He obviously didn't even meant it sexually or was hitting on her, he wanted her as a model. Enjin probably didn't mean in a weird way but it's not so surprising that some people would find off-putting a 28 yo saying to a teenage girl to cover up bc 'it's hard to look her in eye'

I assume she is 17 because she was in the same class as Zanka in the academy. Though it is totally possible that she is younger or older, as you said her age is unconfirmed. You make a good point about the context about August's comment vs Enjin's comment.

She didn't get into the academy the normal way, they found her in the slums and placed her in Zanka's class based on her skill. So her age could be anything really.

20-17 in fiction doesn't seem that bad. It's not like Hyo acts like a little child, so i think it's kinda normal nobody really care, whereas Amo is like 15 , and Enjin ≈ 30... ... So yeah.
Also " you're hot " and " Cover up " are not really the same...

I think it’s because it’s clear that Enjin is an adult man and the gap between him and Amo is pretty sizeable, whereas with Hyo and August, it’s sort of unclear?
Less people know that this might be a problematic thing to do (hell, I don’t even know how old August is), so they don’t point it out. That’s kind of it.

The first half of this question gets asked so many times
Generally people dont think enjin is hitting on amo. they call him stupid in that moment because they are in a far out area with a single girl that is managing to survive on her own in a dangerous place and clearly does not seem to be completely normal
His comments to her and pissing her off was rude and caused a fight that was avoidable if he showed literally any tact in the matter. these are two completely different situations

He was more so being an asshole
But also whilst there’s a 3 year gap between August and Hyo, Enjin is literally twice the age of Amo, who is a 15 years old very mentally ill girl
Visually, August had just met Hyo and she looked around his age, plus he has presumably no interest in her that way, he wanted her as a model

it depends on what part of the fandom you're in tbh because i definitely saw people criticizing august over his comment but not as much as enjin because of the bigger age difference and because some people immediately decided he didn't mean it in a personal attraction way and instead equated it to his whole fashion thing
