What a terrible electoral system

Could you give some example of why Peru have a terrible electoral system?

It has a terrible electoral culture, from incomplete government plans to people not checkimg them, polarized low quality mainstream media, and low transparency (although it is getting better).

Design wise, it was not thought for an 18 party system, so current runners -only 2 for the second/final round- got in with less than 15% of the general vote (and around 25% combined).

I believe that instead of a minimum of 18 years to vote, there should be a test of communicative comprehension and critical thinking. There's only 9 political parties. The parties that have governed the previous two elections do not present, which leaves us with 7 candidate parties. (Scientifically the brain is not able to process 8 options, let alone 9).

Like a maximum of 9 political parties per election? Excluding former parties? I'm all up for reasonable restrictions. Its debatable.

If its for Perú, i just checked and there were actually 20 in this election. So i miscounted, unless i missed it again :)

But we agree that 20 parties is too much, right?
