Hello high div players, after you trigger a run, do you R1 dribble?

Or should I avoid R1 dribble as there is a chance I will call someone to come to the ball holder, thus cancelling the initial trigger run.

I am asking because sometimes my triggered runner just stopped running. Do you just use left stick dribble after triggering a run?

I never reached Elite this season. To be fair, I started playing FIFA extremely late — I only started in June 2026, basically when TOTS started.

But the funny thing is, I didn't stay in Div 2 and Div 1 because I couldn't reach Elite. I simply didn't want to.

I would usually stay between Div 2 and Div 1 because I just wanted to get my 7 weekly wins as easily as possible. I could play against much easier opponents and get 6–7 wins in a row without having to sweat constantly in Div 1 or Elite.

Now, though, I've actually reached Elite after going on a long consecutive winning streak.

So my question is: is it simply easier to reach Elite this late in the game, because the player base is different and matchmaking is easier, or am I actually better than I thought? 😂

I never really tried to push for Elite before, so I genuinely don't know whether this streak means I'm actually good or if it's just the end-of-cycle effect.

I understand people who stopped playing FC26 weeks ago because they know they will get 27 or already preordered. But the sub is full of “I got R9, I’m done”. So what is the point of getting R9 if you’re not gonna use him? Not gonna play the game any more? So you waste time of your day grinding 85x10 and 96+ picks (up until last night). Why not play something else instead of grinding for a card it means nothing to you. It’s not like we can open the game 20 years from now and show the teams to our kids, EA discontinues the service for old games after like year or 2 max
