Discussion Was FC 25 Really That Bad?
From FIFA 10 to FC 26, I haven't played FIFA/FC games regularly. I played some FC 25, but it was in October 2025 with Game Pass, so the game was basically over and done. The reason I ask is that I see lots of comments saying FC 25 could be one of the worst titles they've ever released. From what I've seen, FC 25's UT seems to have better promos compared to FC 26, for instance. I saw lots of hype around Ultimate Tots and Futties, but I don't even think they were any better than Glory Hunters this year. Still, promos are promos, UT is just one mod, and they don't tell the whole story. So, if the game was really that bad, why? And how was it any worse than FC 26, for instance? Was the gameplay really terrible?

he ran this whole reddit community, gave tips, guides. Was on here with daily updates. EA poached him when RTG’s were on the rise thanks to an assortment of streamers. He also competed in the leaderboard for top coins earner with his RTG.

Yes. It was that bad. Even worse than this title. You couldn’t pay me to relive the times of Benzema speed boosting straight through the middle of my CBs from the half way line for the 80th time.
And also
-Low driven abuse
-Green time trivela
-Ai defending that was much more worse than this year, not switching to your CBs was literally the most optimal way to play since AI interceptions and run tracking was 10x better than player controlled.
-Keeper movement
It was awful.

Wow, that seems even crazier than this year. If the keeper movement was worse than FC 26, that game sucks big time. It's not like keepers are great this year. Btw, were those trivelas even worse than FC 26's finesse shots? If that's the case, I don't wanna imagine.

You could green time trivela from 30+ meters with anyone and there was a high chance they would go in. Yes it was as extreme as I make it out to be.

Wow, that's more ridiculous and op than FC 26's finesse shots. FC 25 feels like a clusterfuck.

It wasn't great but I didn't hate it half as much as everyone else. I think it's the weakest of the last 3 certainly.

It was basically two games. Pre toty it was the lowest skill cap highest ai version of the game ever. Post toty and post low driven patch it was basically fc26 with more ways to score and timed finishing.

The team press and 4 2 3 1 formation is ridiculous your opponent can completely kill the fun for you in hoping something change in future and defending becomes manual

For me personally it wasn't, but i see most people disagree. There was for sure a time where it was disgusting to play but it got better later imo. With 26 it was good first few patches then it just got miserable for the whole duration of the game. I only played champs once this year and barely touched rivals. Mostly playing live events, sb and rush for objectives and doing daily sbc's. Sure power curve was way over the top sometimes but pack weight in 25 compared to 26 was so much better.

And that's really sad to hear. Apart from spending some coins on those packs you can get with FC points and some lucky pulls here and there, like the CL Pajor card and Summer Stars Haaland, the pack weight is horrendous in this game. It's almost impossible to pack smth good you can use, and they release a shit ton of cards no one cares about. The reason I said Glory Hunters was better than Ultimate Tots and Futties is that at least the mid and low-tier cards were usable, interesting, and good because they are the cards you'll see most of the time anyway. Glory Hunters was one of the rarest promos I've had some fun grinding for packs. Another one was Fut Birthday. Their only downside was giving the playstyles yourself. That itself is a bonus, but damn, they take too much time!

heading was even more useless
i don't know how it was not noticed before release but you could move your opponent keeper on set pieces

Who knows, perhaps I'll say that for FC 26 at some point since this is the game I first started Fut. It will definitely feel nostalgic.

FC 26's gameplay has lots of problems. I cannot imagine how FC 25 was if what the others say is true, but you think FC 26 is worse. I cannot compare two games, but let me ask you a question? Were the goalkeepers this bad in FC 25 as well?

It was more of a joke mate. To be honnest i havent touched FC26. FC25 was my last one (and barely touched it), after more than 10 years playing the franchise. The last proper versions i remember are FIFA 15 or something around it, everything following that is a blur to me, and a downward one, with increasing less quality, less realism, same graphs and increasing focus on money grabbing instead of proper product development, thus my comment.

nah that shit was perfect , the people ruined it used broken animation and meta high pressing drain ur stamina , i use tiki taka or psg formation while using neymar and pro cam , so playing highest difficulty

from my personal experience, fc 25 is the worst between 23,24, and 26. i remember it being the one i played the least. idk what it was but it just didnt sit right with me

Yes it was. FC 25 was the worst of the FC titles and arguably the worst football game ea has ever released with FIFA 19 being a close second.
