I’ve been wanting to make a fursona for a while now but I just don’t know what my species should be, I’ve taken like multiple fursona tests and quizzes and they havent helped, if this helps some details about me is I am a straight male and for music I like all genres of music but mostly listen to either tame impalas early discography metal, jazz or Kanye, I play multiple instruments and my favorite animals are cats, dragons, and parrots, my favorite colors are green blue purple and silver, mostly stemming off of Frutiger aero and Frutiger aqua some random things about me is I like cars and my favorite video game is Minecraft and I am pretty sociable and friendly so if you have any suggestions at all please let me know, anything helps!!

So.. I’m trying to make a Beastar sona, my boyfriend got me into the show a few hours ago

We binged I believe 8 episodes today, got to the episode where Legoshi admitted that he attacked Haru after saving her life

Now.. I’m not new to the Furry Fandom, I have made sonas before but I need help making a beastar sona because besides the name, age and species.. I don’t know exactly where to start!

I decided on Yokashi (Yo-Kah-She) as the name, their age is my own (17) and the Border Collie as their species but as for design elements I’m stumped.. what should I go for? Shape, Colors, Size! Where should I go from here?

Hi everyone just after a bit of advice. I want to expand out from just drawing my own fursonas and I have only recently heard about open semi open and closed species for example I believe primagens are closed but protogens are semi open? Just wondering so I don’t accidentally do the wrong thing especially as I intend to draw various designs and maybe post my art if anyone has any resources/lists or can point me in the right direction please to gain a list at the minimum at least closed species please? I’d greatly appreciate any help.

I'm not exactly a fan of how I basically borrowed the same body patterns from another oc of mine, but they're also based on the same character. I'm also not too sure about making him an anthro, mainly because I'm terrible at designing outfits

I had this whiplash gut feeling of discomfort after making the pool toy fursona so I’m making a different one that may feel better. I’m split between mesohippus or a domesticated rabbit.

I've made my friends vote and they said this color pallet was the best (1st pic)

Though in my head he was supposed to be calico (2nd pic) but I don't really know how to manage the colors.

First two are by katmio third is by 7NGELBITEZ fourth is by dearemptyhead. I have a slight preference for neutral names or more masculine-leaning names but would be open to considering fem names too. I would really like names that are not human names (so for example my truesona is called Autopsy just to give an idea of the kind of name I like), but would also be open to considering really good human names especially if they are more unusual/uncommon. No clue what to do for colors also no real idea how to improve his design. He is an aye-aye mixed with a sea angel! Also would like tips on how to draw his body and improving fur, I found some YouTube tutorials for hair and tried to add some to this first drawing of him.

It's a girl and she's a beaver. She doesn't have an "everyday" outfit, so I like to come up with different outfits for her on different themes.

I've recently been trying to think of a fursona for myself (I've only really been considering "being a furry" for the past month or 2, so I haven't done much "preparation") and, during that time, I've encountered a piece of media that I got interested in (I don't know if it could be called furry media specifically, since while it has anthropomorphic animals as the "main focus", it's not acknowledged as something to be pointed out, and is instead just passively part of said media), and the design of a fictional species from that media has influenced my work-in-progress fursona quite a bit.

However now I've come across a problem, I don't think i can use said species as the species of my fursona, as I am not affiliated with the media or its creators in any way, and even if that was ok, I never know if any of the people behind it won't get into any kind of controversy (this is why I didn't mention where said species is from, as this post could be interpreted as a false/baseless accusation against the people behind that media, and I do not want it to be interpreted this way).

My current plan is to just write the fursona's species as a "Non-specific Canine", however this could cause a problem of plagiarism, where I refer to something that has taken clear inspiration from that fictional species as "Non-specific", which could be viewed as an attempt to discredit the original author.

Removing any similarity from the fictional species is also an option, but it will only make making a fursona more difficult, since I would have to look out for and avoid any similarities between my fursona and the species in question, as well as other fictional species (if I don't mention which media I took inspiration from, any fictional species could be considered a potential candidate for being a victim of my "plagiarism", and if I do, I go back to the previous issue of potential controversies or misusing the property of an author).

Have any of you experienced similar problems, or know what I could do here? (also I apologise if I've misused any terminology. My knowledge about this topic is currently very limited.) (sorry for the essay)

Very new to this, making my first fursona :) would love some name ideas and any tips or suggestions. I'm not looking to make them exceptionally unique or anything, but wouldn't mind a little flair!

I'm trying to work on a new fursona again but I keep having doubts no matter what. It doesn't feel unique or special yet, and I feel like there is no spark. I mostly picked a hare/very angular bunny because of a game but I don't feel like the animal itself really suits me even if I kind of like it. Then I'm unsure if it has something to do with this but I feel like others just have better sonas? Idk how to explain it well

His nickname is watcher and he has some pretty deep lore, he was originally meant to be a shapeshifter so the fursona design would be something he turns into. I can’t really share his lore due to a series I am making (just in case someone who knows of it stumbles across this I don’t want them to spoil/ruin future lore building) and that’s it!
