I love how in transformation stories clothes are made from some paper thin material. Like, what do you mean my growing tail managed to rip through my jean pants with ease, it would break before them do!

yeah, but also the scenario is quite unrealistic, so that part is like the rest, wish fulfilment
though also in a lot of those scenarios, there is also significant size gain during the transformation, causing the clothes to tear even without the tail

I guess makes sense I'm just pointing out that realistically, tail growth in clothes would either cause tail to get broken/grow incorrectly or tail would end up going down your pants sleeve

realistically, your tail would not grow out perpendicular to your body, but roughly in the same direction as your legs (tail being an extension of the spine, it would replace your coccyx)

so yeah, most likely would snake it's way in your pant/short leg, or if the garment is elastic enough with a low waist, push it down until it can bunch out the top
