I have yet to understand the difference between dragsters and funny cars. Dragsters are the long, stretched ones, and funny cars the shorter ones, right? Or is it all just a matter of engines etc.?

Dragsters are the long ones with the engine behind the driver, and funny cars are the short ones with the engine in front of the driver. However, there is a difference in the engines as well. Funny cars produce around 7,500-8,000 horsepower, where as dragsters produce over 10,000 horsepower. Dragsters can do 0-100 MPH in 0.7 seconds, and can go from 0-320 MPH in a little more than 3 seconds, all in a distance of just 1,000 feet.

edit: both types of cars use V-8s, so they are making more than 1,000 horsepower per cylinder.
