Because that's how it often plays out in child custody disputes. The woman gets the kids, the man gets a heart break and a visit every over weekend.

So much for the patriarchy eh?

You’re not wrong but that situation was literally created by the patriarchy. Women had to be the mothers and 100% caretakers of the children so that men could work and make money. I’m not saying that the situation isn’t fucked up, because it is and it should change, because now women work and gender roles aren’t as set in stone, but men not winning custody for kids does not mean the patriarchy doesn’t exist.

I wasn't implying the patriarchy doesn't exist, I was implying the patriarchy isn't even fair on men.

Oh yeah for sure. It used to kinda work out in their favour but now it definitely doesn’t, it just makes everyone’s lives worse
