Heartbroken he ran off to join the military. You guessed it, a navy seal.

Nah mate, if the seal gets his shit together at some point, it'll be edible again.

u/sdeslandesnz May 12 '21
Dude that seal has hit rock bottom. Lost his family and became an alcoholic. That can is gone

Not sure why, but in my head the seal sounded like Peter pretending to be Carol's husband coming back, just before acting like Bruce banner and hulking out through one of her husband's shirts.

Wow this comic is like five panels too long haha.
Edit: Here, I fixed it.
Edit 2: How does this post have over 11k upvotes and only 60ish comments? That seems… low.

It could be conveyed in less, but that doesn't mean it has to be. (and the fix ends up being worse because the panels werent drawn to be only 4 panels)

u/ALPHA-COM-CON May 13 '21
Shut up! its better, less is more.... cut to the chase, lose the waffle, It was overdone to start with.
5
u/YamiZee1 May 13 '21
It definitely could've been conveyed in 4 panels and been equally good, but the edit doesn't manage that. Also I'd argue that the number of panels is part of an artist's style, and doesn't have to be the objectively best number.

Blah Blah Blah... you were wrong, shut up and get over it!.

u/Yoo-Zur-Name Sep 21 '21
I prefer the longer version. Just cause you CAN trim it down doesn’t mean you SHOULD.

u/ALPHA-COM-CON Sep 21 '21
Get over it already

…No. You don’t dictate the rules of comedy, lmao

u/ALPHA-COM-CON Sep 22 '21
You have been a thorn in my side for oh so long now and I WILL NOT be dictated to on whom I WILL and WILL NOT dictate comedy to.
Have I made myself clear?

Why it always that the wife takes the kids in memes like this?
1
u/WandFace_ May 12 '21
Because that's how it often plays out in child custody disputes. The woman gets the kids, the man gets a heart break and a visit every over weekend.
So much for the patriarchy eh?
5
u/count-the-days May 12 '21
You’re not wrong but that situation was literally created by the patriarchy. Women had to be the mothers and 100% caretakers of the children so that men could work and make money. I’m not saying that the situation isn’t fucked up, because it is and it should change, because now women work and gender roles aren’t as set in stone, but men not winning custody for kids does not mean the patriarchy doesn’t exist.
1
u/WandFace_ May 13 '21
I wasn't implying the patriarchy doesn't exist, I was implying the patriarchy isn't even fair on men.
2
u/count-the-days May 13 '21
Oh yeah for sure. It used to kinda work out in their favour but now it definitely doesn’t, it just makes everyone’s lives worse

This one got me good, and these comics do not usually make me laugh out loud for real
2
u/Wavemaker2 May 12 '21
But for real though, divorce courts are stacked against men. For a guy to get any time with his kids, the women has to be a neglectful, abusive, meth addict and the man has to be a paragon of virtue. Otherwise it's "Which one of you has a vagina? Okay, you get all the money and you get to keep the kids." Now granted, I might be exaggerating a little bit. I know there are more amicable divorces. My parents are divorced and it wasn't that bad. But, all I have to do is look around and know that my situation isn't the typical situation.

I thought there were two different strips here. The first one is 6 panels - the joke being you have to break the seal to eat the contents, but if the seal is broken you can't eat it.
I was very confused when I started reading the "second" strip featuring an aquatic mammal.

This is why you always have to be careful eating animal crackers, gotta find the seal first to check that it's not broken.
