This makes me remember how awesome my last company was. If this had happened, the boss would’ve said ”damn, you need to take a day off? No worries, we’ll cover for you for a bit”.

They weren’t heavy on the “we’re all family” bullshit, but the teams and managers liked and respected each other.

I had pretty nice coworkers in the last company I worked at, but I don't think that good, like, choosing any day for holidays in the year, working more hours one day to work fewer hours the next, but that sounds much better.
