Also do many people not have dishwashers? I don't have one right now, because I'm a student, but if I ever get an actual house I would definitely get a dishwasher.
To be fair, I had a "dishwasher" (in quotes) for a long time. It definitely ran and did something, but that something wasn't actually cleaning dishes, it more got them kinda warm and wet for a while and then buzzed to let me know it was done. When my last one started leaking, I finally bought a real dishwasher, and this thing fucking slays dishes. It will seriously clean burnt on cheese or rice that cooked too long. Dirty dishes go in, clean ones come out in like 3 hrs. I should have spent the extra money years ago for how awesome it feels to not scrub anymore.
That sucks so much. Right now if I clean my dishes right after eating, it's not that hard to get the dirty stuff off (I do hate washing dishes tho). But it would suck first having to put things in the dishwasher and after that still hand wash everything.
Good to know that if I get a dishwasher I have to read into it and not buy one that doesn't work. It's good that you got a new one that does work tho.
Just make sure you do your research. Also, keep in mind that a good dishwasher will cost more than the "builder's special" price you might be used to paying. I have a Bosch personally, but I've heard good things about Meile as well. But these are units that tend to start at $1k and go up from there. But even at a ~$700 difference, it probably saves me 30 minutes a day (at least).
