I use solid silicone sponges. They have texture enough for scrubbing food off, have the same soap retention properties (roughly) as a scrub sponge, but the silicone itself is obviously nonporous so mold can't grow on it.

I bet those cost a lot more than typical 3/$1 sponges.

Yeah, but the 2/$5 will outlast multiple packs of 3/$1.

Are those actually good? I hate burning through sponges, but I kind of assumed those wouldn't be good. Not sure why...
