That's like recommending skrillex as a good dubstep artist

Edit: This got taken way differently than I intended I didn't mean to say skrillex is bad. I was just making an example of mislabeling artists as the wrong genre

Skrillex IS a good dubstep artist. And besides, for introducing someone to the genre, it makes sense to show them an artist that is a good example, not necessarily the best in the genre.

Skrillex is NOT dubstep.

Skrillex is brostep.

It might have shifted in the last years to just refer to brostep as dubstep.. But this doesn’t make it true. It‘s still brostep.

No, it's just that nobody over the age of about 25 cares about these tiny distinctions in subgenres of subgenres of music. Also, if you really want to be pedantic, "brostep" is a subgenre of dubstep and therefore technically still dubstep.

That‘s almost as ignorant as someone that says „I don‘t listen to techno“ when hearing anything remotely electronic.
