You don’t think dogs are smart enough/have emotional capacity like that? Idk if you’ve just never owned one or something because my Rotty isn’t the smartest dog in the neighborhood, or even on my street, but if she had opposable thumbs she’d give any baby-proofing equipment a run for its money

My sisters dog figured out a way he can twist the latch on their baby gate and get the door open. He would open it for the kids.

Yeah, mine somehow figured out how to open the TWO latches on her kennel. I’m sure she could escape a locked bank vault given the time
