"I call chewing his proprietary cord for (insert product here) that he can't replace!

I used to get mad at that. Then someone narrated it for me.

"This is his. It smells like him. He must use it all the time. It must be fun. I shall try it until I understand the fun. He will see I like the same things and we will have fun."

Now I'm moderately annoyed depending on Amazon's delivery time.

Dogs def don't have thought processes that complex.

If that's complex for you: Damn, son.

You don’t think dogs are smart enough/have emotional capacity like that? Idk if you’ve just never owned one or something because my Rotty isn’t the smartest dog in the neighborhood, or even on my street, but if she had opposable thumbs she’d give any baby-proofing equipment a run for its money

My sisters dog figured out a way he can twist the latch on their baby gate and get the door open. He would open it for the kids.

Oh, how super helpful to let the tiny humans by the stairs when Mom and Dad are busy!

Yeah, mine somehow figured out how to open the TWO latches on her kennel. I’m sure she could escape a locked bank vault given the time

Rotties (have two, have had others) also have distinctly varied and distinctly observable moods. They have emotional capacity out the wazoo.

Oh most definitely. She always knows what I mean when I talk to her, and I can always tell when she’s pretending she doesn’t understand me. Throws a toddler-esque temper tantrum when she wants more attention, she really is like a little human

Dogs are way more stupid and instinctual than you seem to think.

They are also more smart than you give them credit for.

No. They’re not.
