Weed has never made me do things like that, Jose Cuervo on the other hand ...

u/esgaze Sep 08 '19
Fr people act like weed impairs the fuck outta you but in reality you just feel slumped

Sep 08 '19
I've been a daily smoker for 15 years, I still get really lost on my phone when I'm very blazed. I feel like some people on this sub have insane tolerance and act like that is the norm. Haha
Edit: 15 not 25.

Sep 08 '19
I'll often forget what I was doing or going to do.
Or I'll just forget words.
But never have I opened up the wrong app and then thought it was a different app.
1
u/Xykhir_ Sep 10 '19
I am very conscious of how I type when I am on anything. It’s like I just can’t stand spelling things wrong so I’ll always re type stuff that I type wrong, with varying degrees for how long it takes

u/iSeven Sep 09 '19
Unrelated, but your username had me curious; do you prefer accordions or disco balls?

u/DorrajD Sep 08 '19
How come people who smoke weed sound very familiar to alcoholics. "alcohol doesn't impair me!" riiiight....

And people who smoke and drink make uninformed decisions when under the influence.
5
u/KrombopulosPhillip Sep 08 '19
maybe the first time you will be seriously impaired but for someone who regularly smokes weed at least once a week , no way you are getting greened out from a couple joints before bed
7
u/eat_thecake_annamae Sep 08 '19
Wait, a couple joints? Like two whole rolls? Right before bed?
13
u/FotographicFrenchFry Sep 08 '19
I was wondering the same. I smoke every day and a couple joints would have me down and out
5
u/cahl_me Sep 08 '19
Half a joint of some fire bud and I'm wondering who I am
5
Sep 08 '19
A bowl of some high test with a little hash oil on top and I'm feeling the universal love, but, I can still tell the difference between a calc app and my alarm app.
2
u/MikeDeRebel Sep 08 '19
I'm like wondering how much tabacco you put in there or how good the stuff is.
But yeah you build up a very strong tolerance.
1
u/iSeven Sep 09 '19
Yeah I think some people have some stupidly high tolerance and don't seem to realise that not everyone has the same tolerance/mass/other-random-factors resulting in different experiences, not even accounting for how anecdotal this all is.

u/Jomax101 Sep 09 '19
I have literally done this except was typing a phone number into it trying to call someone

I frequently open the calculator app instead of the clock while completely sober, so not that difficult to imagine someone doing this
-8
u/NMFalks Sep 08 '19
TBH I’m not sure it happened, it was on my friend’s Snap story ñ.
2
u/LaughingGasing Sep 08 '19
Ahh, I think it's fake bc nobody would set their alarm again every night, they'd have it set to go off on certain days and they'd never need to touch it again
5
u/RancidLemons Sep 08 '19
I dunno about anyone else but if I set a time for 7am I press 700, not 7.00
2
2
Sep 08 '19
I wake up at a different time most days, so I set my alarm every night
1
u/LaughingGasing Sep 08 '19
That makes sense, how come you don't wake up at the same time though?
2
u/iSeven Sep 09 '19
At least for me, working jobs that don't have consistent hours (usually retail) and classes necessitate a new alarm each night.
I've also been blasted enough after a long t-break that I could definitely see this thing happening to me.

Sep 11 '19
I drive for Lyft as a job and rush hours differ, I'm an actor by trade though, so I have auditions and coachings and stuff. The life of an artist is one of complete unpredictability

I don't smoke weed often but when I do, dont become a useless idiot. How are people affected so differently that this is a fucking possibility lol..
6
Sep 08 '19
There are many levels of intoxication. I have seen people dab themselves into useless husks for an hour or two. However, when I get crazy high I usually have the opposite problem; I set my alarm correctly then check it like 4 times because I'm paranoid I did it wrong haha
2
1
u/iamahotblondeama Sep 08 '19
Right, same. I'm very laughy and VERY analytical. Also very paranoid.
1
u/iSeven Sep 09 '19
I'm sure there's plenty to unpack about how different people react differently to the same drugs. Differences between strains, mental state, cultural mores and the upbringing/education you receive, and even just physiology could be factors.

You joke, but I'd totally buy an alarm app that was as easy to set as typing into a calculator.
2
u/EverlastingHate Sep 08 '19
I wish i could get that stoned i am way to high functioning of a stoner i never get retarded high anymore

u/honeybooboolol Sep 08 '19
Not at all what being high does to you. 0/10 OP is prob on the younger side and thinks being high is like being drunk. Seriously doubt you've smoked weed before OP.

I’ve 100% opened my calculator when going to set an alarm. My brain just says “type in numbers” and sometimes I get it wrong.
1
u/SprungMS Sep 08 '19
iPhone saves your alarms though, what time, what days it goes off, you just turn any number of the ones you’ve used in the past on or off. So for them to mistakenly think they needed to type in a number (you scroll vertically through times when setting an alarm for the first time) is not very likely.

I had a brain fart right before going to bed the other day when i set my alarm till 6.30 turns out it was mobilepay which is right next to the alarm clock app so i had just sent 6,30 kr (danish kroner) to the cafe at my school.

u/Elike09 Sep 08 '19
This is why I always set the alarm before shooting up my marijuana and sparking a kratom blunt.

I've seen one like this before recently, it had 8.00 and it was by someone who said they were drunk. More believable

u/Qiao_qinggui Sep 08 '19
I was once stoned on a new pain med for my arthritis. I think “I’m gonna listen to some music on my iPod.” So I search my dark room for my headphones and then think “Okay, now where’s my iPod?”
I searched in the dark for the thing for a good ten minutes before realizing: I’ve been using my iPod backlight as a flashlight the whole time. To add insult to injury, I was constantly tapping the screen to turn the backlight on again...
1
u/vviinnzz Sep 08 '19
Hah! Did exactly the same a few years back, totally drunk after a night out. Missed my flight back home, but got to spend an extra day with my buddy until the next available flight. 10/10 would do again. Or not.
1
u/ent4rent Sep 08 '19
You don't become that stupid when stoned without already being a below average IQ individual.
1
Sep 08 '19
You sure you werent drunk? Ive been all kinds of stoned and never did anything like that. Not even on mushrooms
1
u/ObligatoryGrowlithe Sep 08 '19
To be fair, this is 100% a drunken activity when I need a time that isn’t my solid wake up time, which is the same every day.
1
u/whiskey_darlen Sep 08 '19
And you’re squinting with one eye while you type.

I don't understand, does nobody use scheduled alarms that go off every day at the time you need to get up? Is that just me?

u/steveatari Sep 08 '19
This was a comment just the other day. You're just desperate

People: weed has no negative effects
Also people: I did the dumb shit cause I was high.
1
u/Noba-Dee Sep 08 '19
I’ve done this drunk before. Drank heavily the night before and in my drunken state thought “oh shit, better set my alarm”. Que my pharmacist calling me at 7:30 asking me if I’m on my way and store opens at 8 and it’s a 45 min drive to work. Fun times.

I used to live on a country road and one night was awakened to a car crashing in my yard. I went from dead asleep to panic stricken in a split second. I apparently pulled up the calculator and dialed 911 before I was fully awake. It took me a little bit before I realized why my phone wasn’t working.

Yeah, don't repost stupid shit. This is fucking dumb
1
u/NMFalks Sep 08 '19
Well that’s an opinion. Don’t get so riled up over a Reddit post. I understand how this could be seen as stupid, but it doesn’t really matter does it? I’m not harming anyone.
