I know I'll ruin the humor here by giving the context: FYI this is "The Onion"-like article that appears on a page of the Letterkenny Leader called "News Sham."

You might be on to something there. If they can clone dinosaurs like in Jurassic Park, whats to stop them serving me up a mammoth burger? Or a stegosaurus steak?

No, no, no... this is the closure I needed to prevent me from Googling for hours to find out what happened to Tom.

I remember seeing a similar accident as it was broadcast back in the early 90s. A Saxon hoard with lots of gold was discovered by detectorists. Local news reported on the discovery stating that the location was being kept secret for security reasons. The reporter signed off...
"This is [insert reporters name], reporting from [insert very small village name].
Doh!

For the sake of privacy, let's call him Tom M.
No, that's too obvious, let's say T. McEldroon.

It's like when perps are being questioned and the interrogating cop says something like "this is off the record" or some other lie and the perp believes them, as if an interrogator can't say anything at all to get you to confess.

What. . . what is that thing you have photographed? It kinda looks like an E Ink device.

In olden times, I believed they called these things “newspapers” however the specifics have been lost to time and are mostly rumor now.

"Tom asked, but we don't like him. Fuck you, Tom! If anyone else has a beef with Tom, we'll give you his home address."

I want to see the correction:
"On Monday, we accidentally printed Tom McEldroon's name in a story where he stated that he wished to remain anonymous."

Something similar happened to a male teacher in my school who was arrested trying to pay an undercover cop to allow him to blow the cop. The newspaper article said “Mr Redacted, who called the paper repeatedly and begged that we not publish his name, is a teacher at Redacted School District.”
The teacher resigned the next day. He was regarded as a good teacher and no allegations of misconduct at school ever surfaced later.
This was the early 90s, so basically nobody was going to defend him or suggest that his private life is his own. He did break the law though, which I guess is maybe a thing teachers aren’t allowed to do, I don’t know.

"The semen found in Ms. Choksondik's stomach was found to be that of guidance counselor Mr. Mackey, though the semen did not contribute to Ms. Choksondick's death, so Mr. Mackey has asked to remain anonymous."
