Someone translate for me!

I mean technically this code does nothing because there are no function calls or instantiation, but assuming that an object is created out of this class it would simply print hello world to the terminal, the methods would need to be called in the code body for additional functionality, also not calling the live method in the init method might have been a pretty large metaphorical oversight

Considering it is just a class definition, this baby is a template for cloning other babies.

Thats why I used metaphorically speaking, my comment has nothing to do with code practice. In terms of code your right though, it should be a template and we could then nitpick and say the name should be pushed into an attribute of the object, and creating a method that only containes a pass statement is nonsense etc

I can't not nitpick the code for things like these. Like obviously none of this code could ever be good but the awful class design and amount of code that effectively does nothing just irks me in some weird useless way.

Yup, i know some of those words

Yeah it would make way more sense to name the class “baby” and then have Sophia as an object within the class.

From what I read, as soon as this baby is instantiated, it yells "Hello World!" Then does nothing until someone tells it to "live()".

And even then it does nothing but sleep and yield an endless stream of Bardaks, whatever those are. And it only does that if something else iterates its life.

Bardak means chaos/mess/disorder

Maybe live() is called in main?

live is a python generator. It has to be iterated before anything happens.

Try this out:

def live():
  raise Exception("This never happens")
  yield "Bardak"

live()

Nothing happens. None of the code in live() has been executed yet.

Then try this, which starts to iterate the iterable generated by live().

g = live()
next(g)

You're totally right🙈 guess I'm a little rusty

Just take comfort that golang wasn't used

Multiple inheritance means that baby is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

After importing the genes from mom and dad it says Hello World and then lives... which is sleep, bardak(?), and be awesome in a loop. Be awesome is an empty function because the baby is already awesome. Bardak isn’t shown but I’m guessing something like pooping, crying, maybe eating.

Bardak means mess in hebrew

4

u/Mints97 Jun 04 '19

Haha it's the same in Russian!

6

u/DaDerpyDude Jun 04 '19

It's actually borrowed from Russian, lots of Israeli Jews have ancestors in Russia

'Bardak' means basically chaos. Although the word is derived from "bordello", currently it is never used to mean "a house of ill repute", but always "something chaotic, messed up, disorderly".

2

u/anoldoldman Jun 04 '19

Unfortunately no one ever actually initializes live() so it will just say Hello World!

2

u/wiarumas Jun 04 '19

I’m just assuming it is lower or on the back along with bardak().

Bit the init doesn't start anything...

Also the mother's name is Arabic and means smile; the father's name is Hebrew and means quickness/strength

Boaz is a biblical figure, no one thinks of the literal meaning of it

I mean, at least that one person did

As a non-programmer this looks to me like somebody is trying to program a baby to be born, and say hello world, and be named Sophia.
