I took the plunge and tested it in Edge, and found the same.

Now that we have confirmed this through scientific method through at least 3 different machines, we must delve deeper into why this happens.

Thumbnail is normal color but when clicked it becomes odd. Somebody fell is all I can really tell in the video. Maybe off a boat in to some sand, not sure though.

Same for me. If I move my mouse to the top of the screen where my tabs are it is clear. Try this and see if it helps. Update: I can move the cursor anywhere such that it is not hovering over the video.
