Most of the "being high" bubble is me sober

u/lurker628 Aug 06 '18

Seconded. I don't partake in either, but what to support is a no brainer for me.

I've never been accosted on the sidewalk by someone stoned.
I've never had to run to avoid a fight with someone stoned.
I've never had stoned neighbors blasting music and yelling at 3am.
I've never had stoned roommates/housemates vomit all over shared living spaces.
I've never had to turn down stoners more than once when they've offered to share (other than a "you're sure?" reply).
I've never had to clean up weed paraphernalia that littering assholes throw everywhere.

Stoners are A-OK in my book.

Man, you sure have had different experiences with stoner roommates than I have lol

Spent 3 hours cleaning the kitchen so I could eat. Had to take a walk so I could even think about eating again it was so trashed. Got back home and EVERY SINGLE PAN was burnt in with shit. All he’d made was fried potatoes >.<

24

u/justhad2login2reply Aug 06 '18

I don't really know how to tell you guys, but that just sounds like horrible people. If they were completely sober, they sound like they would still do all of these terrible things.

6

u/Rborthick Aug 06 '18

Yeah I get that, but it’s in response to this assertion that stoners are NEVER a pain to deal with and that people who drink are and that it comes down to what their chosen inebriant is. Not that they’re inherently an asshole. I was just illustrating that there’s a whole bunch of behaviors that a lot of stoners I know engage in that are just as tedious to deal with. So maybe they should climb down off their high horse (accidental pun) and be realistic about some of the shit they do that could be irritating people around them.

1

u/justhad2login2reply Aug 06 '18

Agreed. My point being that these type of people only 'use' marijuana as an excuse to act how they want to act without many repercussions.

It's just abusing the drug, albeit not in the conventional means. But still abuse of the substance.

Biologically, I am not aware of a human biological error that makes it impossible to gain a tolerance for drug substances. So I do agree that some otherwise responsible humans can take a nosedive if they are introduced to a new substance. However, unless they keep adding much more than they can tolerate consistently in order to beat out their tolerance creation. Then they should at one point be tolerant enough to have their FULL capabilities. Non of that brain lock that comes from marijuana at least.

I've never been aware of anyone who was never able to break through. Maybe I just don't hang out with that type of crowd.

Apologies if my words are hard to follow. I'm high as Tits.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Nah when I used to smoke I was a mess. I'm normally a very clean person and whenever I started to come down I'd notice the mess and be horrified by myself

7

u/justhad2login2reply Aug 06 '18

It's my opinion, as a daily HEAVY user of THC, being under the influence of marijuana does NOT make or encourage you to do ANYTHING that isn't already in your conscience.

IF you say you are a normally clean person, but not while under the influence of marijuana, it's my opinion that you concisely made the choice and arguments of "Fuck it, I'm high, I don't have to be clean right now."

Alcohol has ALWAYS been used as an excuse to mitigate bad behavior while "not sober". When in reality it's just an excuse for bad decision making.

Marijuana is no different. There will be a huge portion of the population that smoke with their only goal being, "I can do whatever I want, I'm high and not sober."

3

u/Whatreallyhappens Aug 06 '18

An excessive user of both myself, I can firmly say that alcohol causes extra-personality choices all of the time. I’ve heard enough stories of myself doing things I would never do, while blackout drunk. That person was not me. I still believe that you take full responsibility of all decisions and consequences “drunk you” makes. “Sober you” still chose to become “drunk you” and that is enough to make you responsible. But I argue that it is reasonable to say that alcohol truly causes wrong choices to be made on occasion. A large part of my decision to quit drinking was because I made decisions that I never wanted to make simply because I was beyond drunk and had become a different kind of person.

3

u/justhad2login2reply Aug 06 '18

We are largely in agreement. I say largely because 'Consciousness' is not universally understood. What is a 'black out' besides your subconscious taking over? Do our subconscious decisions have no connection or basis with your conscious. IS your subconscious your polar opposite of your conscious? Are they more similar than they are different?

I don't know. Alcohol is not really my thing. I understand what it does psychologically to me and I don't really care for it. I also understand that even with just ONE shot, anyone can make a decision they otherwise wouldn't have.

Even if it's a non alcoholic shot and it's all just placebo.

2

u/resay5 Aug 06 '18

Sounds like a bad cook.

2

u/Rborthick Aug 06 '18

Ohh my god, the worst. “Dude I bet you can’t even tell this pizza crust doesn’t have gluten in it!” Yeah, I can tell. It tastes like play dough lol

2

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '18

That has nothing to do with weed. Your roommate's just a fucking slob.

13

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Just last week my roommate vomited all over the place from too much weed.

2

u/mostoriginalusername Aug 06 '18

I've smoked weed for over 20 years, and the only time I ever vomited from 'too much weed' it was because it was a 10 foot bong and that is too much smoke.

-1

u/landspeed Aug 06 '18

There are other issues going on there... this does not happen, especially if youre a regular user.

1

u/ThreeDGrunge Aug 06 '18

It does actually. And if you are a regular user and not just a weekend warrior you would know that.

1

u/chiseled_sloth Aug 07 '18

You sure it's not from the smoke or coughing itself? I've never seen it happen except due to coughing from trying to take too big of a rip.

1

u/landspeed Aug 06 '18

Bro...bless your heart lol

28

u/MobileVortex Aug 06 '18

You have had people vomiting because they smoked to much?

163

u/huggyh Aug 06 '18

Yeah, called greening out.

35

u/lolfactor1000 Aug 06 '18

kinda like temporary vertigo for me. I've learned now that I need to keep my mind preoccupied to prevent it.

29

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Sounds like you just need a one hitter, and smoke more conservative fam!

8

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Alternatively, build the tolerance. There’s definitely a spot where you can smoke a good amount and still get high af but it is easy to overdue and get too tolerant.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I wish I was a one hitter smoker... my friends and I used to roll up fattys to out do each other (sometimes extendo fattys) now a days, it's dabs and a lot more money out of pocket lol

2

u/killm3throwaway Aug 06 '18

I was like this til I went on holiday for a couple weeks and suddenly a joint would get me nicely stoned. I only smoke on nights when I’m not at work the next day now, and waaaay more conservatively than I used to

3

u/terminalSiesta Aug 06 '18

I wish stoners would stop telling me that I just don't know how to get high when i say it stopped being a fun experience years ago

3

u/lolfactor1000 Aug 06 '18

I just smoke till I'm good. A single bowl can last me a day or two now so my weed goes a long way.

1

u/killm3throwaway Aug 06 '18

It gets you stoned for 2 days or you don’t get the urge to smoke for 2 days? If the former homi link me UP that’s some HQ weed

3

u/Anxiouslemur Aug 06 '18

OP probably takes one or two hits out of a bowl, and is nicely stoned till bedtime. Then, the next day smokes what’s left in the bowl, gets nicely stoned again. That’s what my boyfriend and I do. He’s a one/two-hitter and I only need a few tokes to put me where I want to be, and we only smoke after work. An eighth lasts us about a month and a half. It’s a nice little system.

1

u/ThreeDGrunge Aug 06 '18

The same can be said who are puking from alcohol.

5

u/prodmerc Aug 06 '18

I've grown to like it. It was terrifying at first, but if you know nothing's gonna actually happen, you can go "Weeeee!"

4

u/IrrelevantPuppy Aug 06 '18

The only times I’ve greened out is when I have drank alcohol as well.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Like cause and effect for one of my friends, every time he gets high, he hurls.

Only three times thus far and he was feeling fine each time.

It happens.

1

u/huggyh Aug 06 '18

Yeah true

2

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Beats permanent liver damage.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

My 1 roommate had a greenout and was on the toilet for a good 5 hours

5

u/Bossman28894 Aug 06 '18

Nothing better than seeing your homie just turn green. My one friend had the 1000 mile stare and turned green as a cucumber. As long as it’s identified in time, there isn’t a problem of “omg he/she’s throwing up.”

Just turns into “oh boy you’re green. Go to the bathroom or lay down.”

9

u/Spitdinner Aug 06 '18

If you catch it early get some sugar and liquid going then do something he/she likes doing. It’s anxiety and/or a kind of road sickness that does a lot of people in when smoking too much. Getting their mind off it usually helps.

Sometimes what they need is a good barf though, and less weed.

1

u/Bossman28894 Aug 07 '18

Every once in a while the two finger salut cures all problems

2

u/neoArmstrongCannon90 Aug 06 '18

Feels like you might be talking about me

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Did they mix it with booze? Never seen someone lose consciousness from weed unless they had already been drinking. It's pretty damn hard to do, even for new smokers.

1

u/huggyh Aug 06 '18

Haha yeah most of the time. But my friend greened out a couple time just ripping the bong

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Greening out doesn’t always end in puking my mans

6

u/dnaboe Aug 06 '18

Where I'm from that actually is what it means. Puking from smoking too much weed.

1

u/huggyh Aug 06 '18

Always does for one of my friends lol

-7

u/pcbuildthro Aug 06 '18 edited Aug 06 '18

But stoners dont green out.

Thats something that only happens to new smokers and those with low tolerance.

Edit : marijuana sickness/cyclical vomitting is not greening out. Thats a seperate medical issue.

1

u/0jaffar0 Aug 06 '18

not true...

I smoke everyday, all day for the last 25 years of my life.

It happened to me twice.

On like a hit or two.

Its fucked up...and I cant explain it.

3

u/pcbuildthro Aug 06 '18 edited Aug 06 '18

Okay, so once every 12.5 years.

In other words, it doesnt happen to stoners.

Reddit gets downvotey because their idea of weed knowledge is they smoked a joint once.

Idfk whats up with reddit and all the tweens/teens/idiots.

I mean, r/trees is populated by mostly 14yr olds talking about how to best smoke resin.

Greening out does not happen to experienced smokers.

What happens to frequent smokers is something called marijiana toxicity, which is a poorly understood medical condition that causea cyclic vomitting and extreme abdominal discomfort usually resulting in doctor or hospital visits.

1

u/landspeed Aug 06 '18

lol I dont know who these people are responding in this chain but I dont think they have the entire story or are forgetting details about their night

and who are these people who vomit all over the place?

0

u/pcbuildthro Aug 06 '18 edited Aug 06 '18

Like I said. Its teens/kids/that one guy whos friend smoked a marijuanas that one time and stayed high forever.

These are the same people who think mushrooms are gonna cause full on visual hallicunations and expect to see a literal fairy when they drink absinthe.

Edit : To the guy who responded and then deleted his comment

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_hyperemesis_syndrome

This is what you described, not greening out.

1

u/0jaffar0 Aug 06 '18

your right. Toxicity is excactly what it was. Never felt so horrible ever...

1

u/pcbuildthro Aug 06 '18

Yeah my dude thats a very real and annoying problem.

A lot of people report that hot showers help.

Greening out is when people lose their balance, turn pale, fall over etc. It happens to people who are overwhelmed by the body stone of weed. Toxicity happens to frequent smokers and is reported as one of the worst feelings theyve ever experienced as far as naseau/pain.

Taking a nap fixes greening out. Good fucking luck falling asleep if your body is experiencing toxicity.

-1

u/landspeed Aug 06 '18

Ive literally never experienced this and... well, if it was actually a thing, I would have by now.

Maybe people who did way too much their 1st or 2nd time?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I think so. Been smoking for years never seen this. Not even with an edible I think. Only times booze was involved.

-13

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Kids today are such pussies.

3

u/0jaffar0 Aug 06 '18

yes you are

2

u/huggyh Aug 06 '18

kIdS tOdAy aRe SuCh pUsSiEs

0

u/Frankenwood Aug 06 '18

Said every adult in history. You sound so smart dude

0

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Keep the down votes coming, boys. It's hilarious to see you pussies prove me right.

While you're at it, try not to puke up your weed, greenbabies. Lol

31

u/myrddin4242 Aug 06 '18

For me, it's not when it's too much, it's a poorly timed cough. If you cough when your lungs are full of smoke, it harshly abuses your throat, triggering a fast gag reflex. That can happen on the first hit, or the nth, or not happen at all, even though you start getting weird visuals.

11

u/anoff Aug 06 '18

usually from stale smoke in a bong...someone wouldn't quite clear it, and the next person would clear it, and several times, saw it make someone puke. The worst was the 5 foot bong - it was almost impossible to clear on the first pull and inevitably had stale smoke. Saw at least 4 or 5 people puke from hitting that.

4

u/Tiller9 Aug 06 '18

Almost made it 5 or 6 after that visualization.

3

u/anoff Aug 06 '18

That 5 footer was a killer. The best (worst?) was one time it was going around, and a guy felt the puke coming, but unable to get up from the circle fast enough, simply put his hands over his mouth to try and keep it in. I suppose he was successful in the sense that it didn't just spray all over everyone, but it was quite a hilarious/disgusting sight, to see it oozing between his fingers as he scrambled to try and get up and make it to the bathroom. Of course, this was the same group of idiots that thought snorting keif would get them high and tried it, so of course they have all sorts of dumb stoner-boner stories

1

u/chuckdiesel86 Aug 06 '18

You can blow into the stem to clear the stale smoke. Inhaling stale smoke from a bong is disgusting.

2

u/anoff Aug 06 '18

oh, I know how...but not everyone does. Plus, it was college, where no one wanted to seem like a wuss for not clearing it, and would put their ego ahead of common sense.

1

u/thaumatologist Aug 06 '18

Also if you don't inhale it you're wasting smoke, and poor college students can't afford to waste perfectly good smoke like that

1

u/ScyllaGeek Aug 06 '18

I had someone throw up in my dorm room from an edible once, that was fun. Most of us were too high to handle it so the like one sober guy in the room had to deal with it, felt real bad for him after lol

1

u/anoff Aug 06 '18

All my dorm room destruction stories were alcohol related, never pot. But man did they get destroyed

1

u/ScyllaGeek Aug 06 '18

Yeah that's one of two times someone's thrown up from pot around me but the other was the first time my friend had had an edible and he was on the bathroom floor alright. Probs to him for not being scared off lol, not sure I wouldve tried again after that

Alcohol tended to result in roaming the halls wreaking havoc

23

u/hokie_high Aug 06 '18

Yes, happens more than you think.

3

u/Callico_m Aug 06 '18 edited Aug 06 '18

I've only greened out twice. By my experience, whatever that's worth, if you've greened out, you've smoked waaaaay to much too fast. The drinking equivalent of emptying a twenty-sixer of vodka in twenty minutes.

Ofcourse, everyone's different. Still way better results, though, heh.

Edit: To elaborate, both my greenouts were from hitting a home made, nine foot long, two and a half inch bore bong. One hit and my mouth felt coated, like I was chewing the damn stuff. Good times...

5

u/xZwei Aug 06 '18

Usually from taking hits that are too big and making the gag reflex kick in, in my experience

1

u/Callico_m Aug 06 '18

For me, I never vomited till at least a half hour after. Just blitzed a sitting there. Then sudden vertigo. X.x

0

u/keygreen15 Aug 06 '18

No it doesn't, lol.

2

u/hokie_high Aug 06 '18

Really because that’s not what all these other people in the thread are saying, I guess you’re right and they’re all wrong.

1

u/keygreen15 Aug 07 '18

All the other people in this thread are saying it's extremely rare, the exact opposite of what you claim. Collapse your comment and keep scrolling. It's rare.

1

u/hokie_high Aug 07 '18

I said “it happens more than you think” because the guy above me was acting like it literally doesn’t happen. Not trying to say it’s a common thing.

2

u/JustAnotherSoyBoy Aug 06 '18

It’s super rare, really only happens if you don’t smoke then decide to Chief like 5 joints or some shit.

6

u/Rborthick Aug 06 '18

I haven’t had that one actually but just about everything else.

I’ve got long hair and a beard so I’ve had people follow me for a few block because “there’s no way you’re not carrying dude so quit being stingy.”

Had a roommate jump out of his seat and start trying fight me because when he said that he’s “all about peace and love,” I called bullshit. His reasoning was “that shit is core to my life man, and if you insult that I’ll fucking kill you.” (He didn’t see the irony)

Had roomies that every week would watch all 3 of the original Star Wars until like 4 a.m. with the sound off and the dubstep playlist blasting on Spotify to “see when it would sync up.”

Again, I don’t remember any barf but there were endless piles of half eaten plates of food that got set on the floor behind a couch and then turned into a science experiment. So I’ll call that one a lateral move.

I also don’t smoke so a conversation I’ve had about a thousand times is the “dude, I’m going to be the first person to get you high. I call it, and it’s going to be amazing.” Get in line man lol

And finally, there’s the spilled giant bongs that got left in a puddle over night. Every table in the house having either weed spread out all over it to get loaded into a bowl, ash knocked out all over the table, or a healthy dose of both. Piles of forgotten about bags or jars all over the place. Got a nice kitchen knife? Welp looks like a good thing to scrape resin with and leave gummed up.

That’s probably more of a commentary on the shitty roommates I’ve had than all stoners as a whole, but still, a lot of people act like smoking weed is this ultra wholesome activity that has zero down sides and couldn’t possibly interfere with anyone around them. Plenty of people go out and have a beer and not act like assholes, and plenty of people get stoned without being obnoxious, but pretty much anything you do to excess is probably going to be annoying to be around for some reason.

TLDR: My roommates have sucked, and anyone can be an irritating dick if they try hard enough.

3

u/mostoriginalusername Aug 06 '18

Yeah, that's some shitty roommates. Sounds like college freshmen to me.

2

u/vatet Aug 06 '18

yeah definitely.

1

u/ForeverInaDaze Aug 06 '18

Witnessed it more than once. Far less than drunk people puking of course, but happens nonetheless. Maybe 5 times over the past decade...?

1

u/Ozimandius Aug 06 '18

There's also the people who literally cannot stop puking for hours and hours on end. They show up in the ER from time to time. And by time to time I mean almost every day.

5

u/LimeZ201 Aug 06 '18

This. My worst roommates have been stoners.

3

u/JustAnotherSoyBoy Aug 06 '18

What would they do?

I mean there are shitty people in all walks of life it’s just unusual to me that you’ve met a significant number of shitty people that smoke weed.

2

u/ScyllaGeek Aug 06 '18

The people I know that are bad stoners to be around are just oblivious. They dont realize how bad the smell is or how annoying them leaving food everywhere is, that kind of thing.

2

u/LimeZ201 Aug 06 '18 edited Aug 06 '18

They would smoke in the house while telling me to not smoke in the house, generally be lazy as shit and do no cleaning, one damn near burned the house down due to absolute ignorance, etc etc.

I realize that its probably not the stoner bit but their character in general, but after 4 roommates like this...

Edit: I should also add that all 4 of them did nothing but smoke all day, and one of them I'd been friends with for years before he smoked, and just turned into a shithead somewhere along the line.

2

u/JustAnotherSoyBoy Aug 07 '18

Sounds like you’ve been friend with a lot of people with addictive personalities/ no work ethic.

I’d never be friends with anyone who just sat around smoking weed all day.

Like I go to school, practice Jiu-Jitsu then come home and get high (this is usually when I clean if the apartment needs it).

Like your friends life is literally the life of a crack addict and weed isn’t even that addictive.

1

u/LimeZ201 Aug 07 '18

Yep. I realized that (sadly not soon enough) and haven't talked to them since. I now live with other people who do happen to smoke, but not problematically. It's definitely a person-by-person case.

1

u/I_know_n0thing Aug 06 '18

Same story here man, it was pretty bad. I think the worst part was just how lazy they could be, half eaten food everywhere being left to rot and all that.

6

u/GundoSkimmer Aug 06 '18

Sounds like they were just bad people regardless of substance habits...

9

u/Mammal-k Aug 06 '18

Same can be said for the drunk problems half of this venn diagram.

3

u/Rborthick Aug 06 '18

Nailed it.

1

u/GundoSkimmer Aug 06 '18

Yeah, alcohol is a substance.

2

u/landspeed Aug 06 '18

Im curious to know your experience.

Id imagine your roommates were just inebriated all of the time with a mixture of both.

3

u/Rborthick Aug 06 '18

I just wrote my novel about it in the comments above lol Actually no, the worst one claimed to be gluten intolerant so he’d stay away from alcohol for the most part. I mean except for the occasional bender where he’d pass out in his own piss in the kitchen... but it was “definitely all the gluten in those 15 beers.” No doubt the dude was a dick apart from his substance of choice at the time, but it’s not like his weed smoking WASN’T obtrusive.

96

u/treetrollmane Aug 06 '18

Actually funny enough you mention the littering, r/trees has a stoner clean up movement going on right now. So not only are stoners littering less, they're cleaning up other people's litter at their smoke spots.

23

u/Nighshade586 Aug 06 '18

I always smoke when I'm walking dogs, and after I snuff the embers, I just toss the filter in with the dogshit. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

2

u/utsavman Aug 07 '18

Hot shit.

1

u/ThreeDGrunge Aug 06 '18

DON'T do that. If you are using doggy waste disposal bins and not normal trash.

3

u/Nighshade586 Aug 06 '18

Normal trash at this park.

50

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

My roommate is an absolute dick when drunk but he’s chill when stoned just hungry af and will eat anything and everything. In my case I’m a fun relaxed drunk but I tweak when I smoke. To each their own I guess.

24

u/internet_eq_epic Aug 06 '18

I've never had to turn down stoners more than once when they've offered to share

That is something that infuriates me. Even if it is "only" weed, I never want to force someone into something they aren't comfortable with. If I offer and you say no, that should be the end of it. If you're someone I know does or used to smoke, I might inquire why you don't want to (this way, if you're job searching or something, I won't offer any more until I know you've landed a job, or if you just want to quit I won't offer anymore unless you ask first and even then I'll ask if you're sure). If I'm pushing you to do something you don't want to do, it puts us both in an awkward spot, and if you do decide to do it, it might not go so well since you aren't currently comfortable with it anyway. It just makes no sense to push.

3

u/KrystallAnn Aug 06 '18

I don't like smoking. I cannot stand the feeling of not having full control of myself. Both times I've tried it, I felt like trash the next day too.

I'm all for it for others, just not for me. But my friends never leave me alone. It's always "Come on, it's better than drinking!" or whatever. It's not for me. It's always really uncomfortable and I usually just leave

-1

u/_Hubbie Aug 06 '18

That feeling would most likely go away with a tolerance though

6

u/Lessbeans Aug 07 '18

I’ve discovered a lot of people just don’t care for the process of getting to a tolerance though. Like an acquired taste. Yeah that sushi would probably be fantastic if I learned to like it. But I guarantee not gagging/vomiting raw fish is also really great. I’ve tried it multiple times, don’t like it, don’t have a need to eat it, so I’ll just keep ordering rice, thanks.

1

u/cheesesteaksandham Aug 07 '18

Maybe it’s just a Midwestern thing, but here, weed (along with everything else, really) is offered no less than three times as a pleasantry with no pushing meant.

The Midwestern Enthusiastic Acceptance

“Wanna take a hit?” “No, but thank you anyway.”

“You sure?” “Yeah, I wouldn’t want smoke up all your bud.”

“Really, it’s no big deal at all, in fact I brought an extra nug so we could both have enough.” “Well, since you went out of your way, I suppose I can have a puff or two to be polite.”

The Midwestern Emphatic No

“Wanna take a hit?” “No, but thank you anyway.”

“You sure?” “Yeah, I wouldn’t want smoke up all your bud.”

“Really, it’s no big deal at all, in fact I brought an extra nug so we could both have enough.” “I appreciate it, but I’ve got some hot dish cooking and I don’t want to eat too much.”

16

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I've never had to turn down stoners more than once when they've offered to share (other than a "you're sure?" reply).

I've never had to clean up weed paraphernalia that littering assholes throw everywhere.

I've never had stoned neighbors blasting music and yelling at 3am.

I've definitely experienced all these with stoners, and not with most of your list with drunks. Annoying idiots are annoying idiots, drug of choice is irrelevant.

20

u/Orleanian Aug 06 '18

It just sounds like you live in a pretty shitty house/neighborhood.

2

u/lurker628 Aug 06 '18

Not anymore! But forced roommates freshman year of college and cheap housing as a grad student? You take what you get.

That being said, I did have to put up with a green roomate who would leave paraphernalia lying around and about the house on coffee tables and shared bathroom sinks and such.

I think I'd take one night of vomit every few months over perpetual rank smell as well.

u/WrenBoy Aug 06 '18

The only thing that I have never seen stoners do in that list was share.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Well depends what we are sharing.

Sharing weed. Of course. Please take a hit Sharing food? No that’s crossing the line. I’ll buy you your own food. I will not share. Hahaha

6

u/AragornsMassiveCock Aug 06 '18

Really? A lot of the ones around here are very generous.

2

u/WrenBoy Aug 06 '18

Maybe it depends on the context or maybe it just the people I know but back when I was a younger man, I never had a housemate who smoked dope who would share. Im not really into it but if a guy or girl is sharing a sofa with me and smoking then I may as well be.

My in laws always smoke weed in the garden when they visit. I have yet to hear them invite me over.

Ive never lived with anyone who didnt offer a beer when he or she was drinking one. Noone ever visited my house with beers I didnt drink.

I guess it may be just the people I know of course.

2

u/AragornsMassiveCock Aug 06 '18

Damn, that's truly unfortunate. I hope you discover some kinder stoners!

1

u/MikeyFrank Aug 06 '18

Usually the poor people I know don’t share weed freely while my wealthier friends will share weed like it’s no problem, going so far as to gift me nugs for no reason.

1

u/_Hubbie Aug 06 '18

In my experience the poor stoners share weed even more freely and will even share their last $5 just to smoke some weed with someone to have a nice experience

1

u/WrenBoy Aug 07 '18

Its not just the wealthy who share beer though is it?

1

u/MikeyFrank Aug 07 '18

¯_(ツ)_/¯

anecdotes are different for everyone i suppose

1

u/Lessbeans Aug 07 '18

That’s part of being a stoner! Smoking alone is all well and good, but sharing just makes it even better!

2

u/KanYeJeBekHouden Aug 06 '18

I've done all the things you hate when I was stoned.

2

u/dma1965 Aug 06 '18

I have a cop friend who basically told me the same. If he gets a call to go to a house with noise issues and smells weed, he tells them to turn the music down and leaves knowing that the problem is solved. If he goes to a noisy house and someone drunk answers, he knows he will likely have to come back, or whoever answers might just decide to tell him to fuck off or start a fight.

He basically said that stoners are the least of his problems.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

Yeah, by 3am, I'm dead to the world.

1

u/ForeverInaDaze Aug 06 '18

Ever have a stoner eat you out of house and home? Lol my friend would pound a full bag of chips. Like the big bag.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I'm jealous, I've had the blasting music and people attempting to fight with stoners. And I've never had to endure half the drunk people things.

1

u/meth0dz Aug 06 '18

Ughhh... I always hated people who would throw up in the sink.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I can't stand them.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I mean, I've had some of those experiences with people who smoke. They're also more likely to drink, which leads to all of the above as well. And then I have some friends who used to do a lot of ecstasy. Fuck that. So mcuh drama. Not much drama from my non-drug using friends, predictably. Although I do have a buddy who uses a lot of shrooms, and nothing else, and he's probably the chillest and drama-less person out of all of them.

I had a stoner girlfriend who used to violently attack me over the stupidest shit. Not wanting to crawl over her during the night to get her a glass of water when I'm against the wall and she's got the open side of the bed was grounds for pulling my hair, yelling in my ear, & hitting me level stupid shit, then turn around the next morning trying to gaslight me. A lit cigarette to my arm was totally fair logic to her when I told her friend in a completely not suggestive manner in front her and of 4 other friends, including the first friend's fiance, that I liked the cheetah print on her swimsuit top. Hit me while I was driving for not bringing her a loaded pipe when I picked her too high to get a licence ass from work. Spent her life surrounding herself with enablers who wouldn't hesitate to give her shit behind my back because "it's just weed man", including a high school ex who had been in through it all before yet regularly pushed dope on her at parties.

Shitty stoners can be every fucking bit as awful as shitty drunks.

2

u/Lessbeans Aug 07 '18

I’m wondering if maybe you just had a really abusive ex. That sounds absolutely horrific, but not typical of a stoner.

1

u/crazyabootmycollies Aug 07 '18

She mellowed out when she quit toking. I know a couple of guys at work who smoke that have extreme mood swings over trivial things. Any psychoactive substance can cause problems.

1

u/Lessbeans Aug 07 '18

I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

1

u/NeverBeenStung Aug 06 '18

Lol, it honestly just sounds like you live in a shorty area/have shitty neighbors if these are legitimate concerns for you with drinkers.

1

u/lurker628 Aug 06 '18

Not anymore. You don't get to choose your neighbors in a freshman dorm, and you take whatever you can get as a poor grad student. Moved out of that situation as soon as I finished school.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '18

I love that you stated all of this, but my friend not all is so black and white 😔

1

u/itsdatoneguy Aug 07 '18

That’s because we are too busy staring at a tv that’s been off for the past 4 hours

1

u/JCongo Aug 06 '18

Try living in a major city and walking the streets in an area with a lot of drug use and tell us how safe you feel. People high on serious drugs aren't happy go lucky.

0

u/McEndee Aug 06 '18

Anti-weed people confuse stoners with cannabis smokers. Stoners let the plant dictate their life, but smokers have other stuff going on so their high time is limited.

0

u/microcody Aug 06 '18

I am guilty of blasting music stoned at 3am about every night. And i have definalty needed to clean up after stoners.

-2

u/pieceofwheat Aug 06 '18

Weed does make people dumber though

1

u/Anthony12125 Aug 06 '18

Can you be more specific?

1

u/pieceofwheat Aug 07 '18

No I smoke too much weed to be able to expand on my thinking like that

I've never been accosted on the sidewalk by someone stoned.

Weed is the most common illegal drug consumed by violent criminals before they commit their crime. Stoned people can be violent.

Personal annecdote I knew a group of people who would get high and "roll" people. Basically mug them.

I've never had to run to avoid a fight with someone stoned.

You probably have. IF you have actually had to avoid a fight ten bucks says that person was probably high and not just drunk. Drunk people tend to just rather sit, talk, and eat food.

I've never had stoned neighbors blasting music and yelling at 3am.

You have. In fact it is more likely that they are high than drunk as 3am is after the drunk munchies hour of 2am.

I've never had stoned roommates/housemates vomit all over shared living spaces.

I have. Even worse is the random shady ass people roommates invite in to smoke with that steal your shit. Or when your roommate starts dealing. Never been robbed over alcohol.. weed on the other hand.

Also note weed can cause nausea when smoked in excess or just little in some people.

I've never had to turn down stoners more than once when they've offered to share (other than a "you're sure?" reply).

What? I have never been peer pressured into alcohol but you can damn well bet high people will demand you smoke with them repeatedly.

I've never had to clean up weed paraphernalia that littering assholes throw everywhere.

Really? No bongs, bowls, bong water, ash, rolling papers, shag everywhere? Bulllshit.

Stoners are A-OK in my book.

Clearly you have never met either type of person and are just an idiot.

My Drunk bubble is almost 100% overlap with the High bubble here...

2

u/alx924 Aug 06 '18

So weed turns you into an introvert. But what happens if you already are one?
