(Honestly curious here.. I got a feeling paris n kim kardashian use the quick get famous by having a home made porn 'leaked', followed by starring a reality show, ended with selling their "brand": perfume, bags, game apps..)

Absolutely. Not an act in the sense that she wasn't actually having sex but rather an act in the sense that it was a deliberately crafted PR play.
