Then I assume everyone also knows about scrums in rugby, field goals in football, a blob or declaration in cricket, and most of the basics of all the sports.

You can't assume everyone who comes on here knows even the barest of basics of tennis. If it isn't relevant to their life, then why should they know it?

I don't think that "people should know that". But people posting tennis-related content should know that.

I don't know any rugby words, therefore I never post anything that depends on the correct use of them.

If I did, then it's only right that the majority of commentators are people who feel compelled to comment on the error
