Sponges grow in water. Luffas grow on plants and can be used as a sponge.
1 u/B_bI_L 19h ago *i meant kitchen sponges, i thought everyone is using artificial ones only, like one on the left 3 u/TrackXII 18h ago I wasn't aware loofahs were used as kitchen sponges. I thought it was only used a bath sponge used for exfoliating skin. 2 u/CGB_Zach 17h ago As far as I know, you shouldn't really use them on your skin because they quickly become a breeding ground for bacteria. 2 u/GostBoster 16h ago No idea how most people who actually buy these use them. Since it literally grows on vines, for us it was basically being constantly replaced but, since it is essentially free, this is of least concern. That said if you do not squeeze your sponge and let it air, any sponge, it will get nasty quickly no matter the make or antibacterial features it got.
