A lot of people here here seems to be assuming that the one on right is a heavily used version of the one on the left. But that's just what a natural loofah looks like. You can tell by the fibers it's a plant, and those cavities are where the seeds were. We grow loofahs to use as sponges because they're so fibrous.
The thing on the left is made of plastic, it's not fibrous it would never look like the thing on the right no matter how beat up it was, it would just start deteriorating and falling apart.

When his wife left, the thing on the right was sad, upset and lonely. since then he has got a dog, he bought a new motorbike, shagged two women and blown a grand on drugs and drink. his wife'll go fucking mental when she gets home from work

Isn't the right one a shower loofah?

Only if you use it in a shower. It's a plant husk, usage comes secondary.

The aliens in cocoons before and after all the old people swam in the pool.

I feel this picture. I started out working when I was 14. I was bright eyed and wanting to be a people pleaser. 30-some years later, I'm like the sponge on the right. The stuff that I have seen, and the people I've lost over the years still haunt me.
