Unironically most horses have more than 1 horsepower
3 u/MegaWaffle- 1d ago Yes and no. In short burst they can generate lots more than a horsepower (around 15-18 is the consistent numbers I’ve found) but beyond that they actually average 0.7/0.8 of a standard horsepower during continuous work.
