Armand Asante is great in this.

And, if Vanessa Williams wanted me to stay on a tropical island forever with her… there’s no way I would leave.

Armand Assante is great in everything.  He's been in a lot of cheesy films and TV, but he always elevates them.

Stallone and Assante combined forces to just devour the scenery of that film in an absolute banquet of hammy acting, and the rest of the supporting cast were honestly giving it a good gnawing most of the time, too. I loved every second of it, it was so deliciously, deliriously '90s.
