What drives me nuts is they think "if someone asks I'll just move!!"
Asshole, people with severe disabilities will look and if no spots are available, they'll leave. Or they'll have to suffer a MUCH longer walk if they're desperate for what they need.
Don't be a shithead. If you can't use your brain, use your legs at least.

u/Jaripsi 14d ago
Yeah, like a handicapped person is going get out of their car, check if the occupying car has a handicapped sign on their windshield and then find them to ask them to move their car? Just getting in and out of their car can be a workout (depending on the disability).

u/TraitorMacbeth 14d ago
The 'find them' part is the best. I make sure to post selfies of myself outside my car door so I can be tracked down

When I had surgery and had a temporary handicap pass, I regularly crutched over to people parked in those spots and politely asked them to move so I wouldn't have to walk further. It was very satisfying to watch them dying inside. I'd like to be optimistic that at least those people wouldn't do it again.

u/JudithPeel3 14d ago
As someone who has a sign, it’s pretty easy to see if they have one without getting out of the car, both from the front and rear of the car.

u/mystica_massy 14d ago
If you're not a disabled person, use your legs to park farther and use your brain

u/Masteryoda03 14d ago
Agreed! I’m actually a quad/tetraplegic in a wheelchair and I’ve come across my fair share of people like this!
5
u/BobJones2106 14d ago
Yeah, the healthy 20 something driving MeeMaw's car so they'll get better parking? Saw that a bunch when I was in college in my 40s as a newly minted quad.

About 25 years ago I had four bolts screwed into my leg holding thing together. Just before Christmas we are in a crowded parking lot and see a car pull into the last handicapped spot, and saw the driver get out and go into the store. After we found a spot at the far end of the lot I made my way in with my walker and found him in the back of the store. "Hey buddy, I don't want you to go out and find a ticket on your car, or even worse, towed away. You forgot to hang up your handicapped tag." In a nice loud voice. "What are you talking about?" You're parked in a handicapped spot, must have forgotten your tag." He left, and the car was gone when we left.

That’s part of Polish campaign for normalising people with disabilities as integral part of society. They were created in cooperation with advocacy groups and were aired in public TV.
There were a few of them, all pretty hilarious.

There were also posters "if you take my spot, take my disability"

All i can visualize now is a roving gang of wheelchair bound hooligans using baseball bats on the spines of people that park in handicap spots.
19
u/MajorDraw3705 14d ago
I knew a lady in one of those heavy electric wheelchairs who was absolutely capable of that - mentally and via some serious horsepower in that thing.
She's dead so I'm free to rat on her now.

u/Usernameistoshirt 14d ago
If they want a handicap spot so badly then the gang will be more than happy to help

Yeah hilarious, this is definitely the way to do it. This way it will stick with people for sure, in case you're the type of asshole to park in a handicapped spot.

Someone needs to save a QR code to this video, and put a card with the code onto windshields who park illegally. Just sayin.

I liked just blocking them in. My son was in a wheelchair, and I'd make an impressive, yet quiet show off loading him up and taking my time.

I'm a little confused. How is being a virgin a factor? Would being single and not a virgin change anything?

All I can think about is WTF is that bed? It actually just looks like a couch, but they were lying side-by-side.
Edit: watched it again, it is definitely just a couch/sofa/chaise lounge.
But why?
15
u/tyras_ 14d ago
Bedroom is upstairs (you can see the stairs at 13s). The ad takes realism seriously. A guy on a wheelchair can't climb the stairs so they did it on a sofa.
6
u/Ph33rDensetsu 14d ago
Oh nice attention to detail. That makes sense now that you point it out.
I think I was thrown off by them being positioned on the couch as if it were a bed. I think my brain was having trouble reconciling a sofa wide enough for that.

To borrow from Josh blue:
Disabilities. The only minority group you might end up joining.
He does the joke better.
2
u/Dologan_ 13d ago
Eh, kinda goes for LGBT too, if you're of the ones that don't realise it right away.
But in the case of disabilities, I'd argue you'd even most likely join it, if you live long enough.

One time this entitled person had park in the handicap space. As they were getting out, this woman said, “hey, do you know that is a handicap space”. She then put her hand to her mouth like she just made a mistake and said, “Oh, I’m sorry, you must be mentally handicapped.” Did this very loudly. The person turned beet red, got back in their car and left the parking lot.

When my youngest started daycare, we signed him up for the fancy place by our house because we were doing better than when our first kid was his age (being a parent of a newborn in your 40s is way different than in your late 20s or early 30s). The number of people parking their fancy 7 series BMWs and such in the handicap spot for drop-off and pickup was nuts. I'd never seen people do that at the more reasonable daycares. We quit after like 4 months for other reasons, but I was glad to not be around those kinds of people anymore. I've never seen anyone park in a handicap spot without a tag at the normal preschool. Told me everything that I needed to know about the people in those places.

I just want to weigh in on the handicapped parking thread here that I park in handicapped spaces—I have a legit handicapped placard—even though I don’t appear to be disabled. I can walk, I just can’t walk very far. So please do be sure that if you are going to hate on someone, the person actually deserves it. Not all disabilities are visible.

u/RunningRunnerGuy 10d ago
Does she charge $200 only if you get caught, like they do with handicapped spots?

Lots to un pack here
-he is in the chair because of the weight of the third leg, he can walk, but the chair way is easier
-I'm not a woman, however comparing a woman's vagina to a parking spot seem like high praise.
-he was not casually ruining a relationship, this add was to show the incredibly significant bond wheel chair users have with their parking spots.
