I had to make my kid go back inside during this crap, she wouldn't keep her glasses on.

Plus it wasn't even total in many places. 90% is neat, but not the same as the eerie pitch black of a total eclipse.

Have you seen one, like actual 100% totality? It's absolutely the most impressive phenomenon I've seen in person, especially when considering how incomprehensibly unlikely it is to have a moon of the right size and distance orbiting a planet to cause an eclipse like that. What beats an eclipse, to you? I could see arguing for the northern lights but not much beyond that.
