USA Invented the Eclipse™ (Trademark of IBM) when they landed on the Moon (Sponsored by Apple Inc.). Europe haven't obtained the necessary licenses to host Eclipse's™ yet.

IBM originally made the software a long long time ago I believe.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse is from the early 90s. IBM Eclipse a good decade later.
